Abstract: A power tool (10) is provided having a plastic casing (12) and a scraper blade (14). The blade (14) is caused to reciprocate by an internal low power rotary motor (24) which drives a cylinder cam (28) having a sinusoidal cam track (34). A pair of studs (36) ride in the cam track (34), and drive the reciprocal movement of the blade (14). The tool (10) is substantially sealed against liquid ingress by means of an elastomeric membrane within the casing (12), and may be used as a marine growth remover, for defouling boats and the like.

Abstract: A paint scraper has a lower cover, an upper cover detachably engaged with the lower cover, a locking device securely clamping the lower cover to the upper cover and a blade clamped between the lower cover and the upper cover. Abstract: A window paint scraper for scraping paint from a window while protecting the window frame from the blade. The window paint scraper includes a head portion, a distal end, a proximal end, and a pair of sides. The distal end has a slot therein adapted for removably receiving a blade. A sharp edge of the blade extends away from the distal end. The sharp edge has a width generally equal to a width of the distal end. A handle portion is elongate and is integrally coupled to the proximal end of the head portion. A pair of spacing members places a distance between the sides of the head portion and a window frame. Each of the spacing members is integrally coupled to one of the sides of the head portion. Each of the spacing members is abutted against a junction of the sides and the distal end of the head portion. A bumper protects the widow frame from the sharp edge of the blade. The bumper is integrally coupled to and extends away from the distal end of the head portion. The bumper extends away from the distal end such that the bumper will prevent the blade from touching the window frame when the blade is abutted against the widow pane.

Abstract: A powered tool removes moldings or other mounted item without imparting damage to the surface being worked upon. The tool has a blade affixed to a handle. The handle and blade are interdigitated so as to form a flat surface along the bottom of the tool. This smooth, flat surface allows the tool to be deployed upon the surface and the blade then slid underneath the molding, such that, by a pneumatic force or other power supplied thereto, the tool easily lifts the molding away from the surface. The handle of the tool has a gripping portion and blade-engaging portion, such that the tool can be comfortably gripped to effect the removal of the molding. The damage to the surface is eliminated when using the present tool, in part, by the formation of the blade of plastic.

Abstract: A multi-purpose scraping apparatus is disclosed which enables the interchangeability of scraping blades. The apparatus is made of a handle, a shank and a blade receiving assembly, the shank being interposed between the handle and the blade receiving assembly. The blade receiving assembly comprises a back plate, a spring plate, a spring tongue and means for securing the spring plate to the back plate. The spring tongue extends from the spring plate and provides means for moving the blade receiving assembly from a gripping position to a releasing position. The back plate and the spring plate are thus constructed and arranged to cooperatively engage a blade to be used with the apparatus and to bias the blade receiving assembly in the gripping position. Abstract: A paint scraper tool includes a blade member and a handle member extending at an angle thereto. The blade member has an upper and a lower surface, and the tool includes side gusset members mounted on the blade member upper side. The handle member extends at an acute angle rearwardly from the blade member and toward the blade member upper side. The tool includes a beveled front edge thereon, for ease of scraping, the beveled edge having awl points therein to facilitate scraping of cracks, crevices, corners and the like. The tool also includes curved blade surfaces, for use in scraping rounded surfaces such as furniture legs. For the preferred embodiment, the side gusset members and tool handle cooperate to provide a particularly advantageous system. Further, the gusset members form sides of a trough in which paint scrapings may be received, during use of the tool. Preferably the tool is formed from a single piece of molded plastic material or the like.
