Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for implementing a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) protocol in a wireless local area network (WLAN). A station (STA) may send a HARQ transmission to another STA. The HARQ protocol may support the use of different types of feedback from the receiving STA to control the HARQ retransmission process. This disclosure provides example message formats to support HARQ transmission and HARQ feedback in a WLAN.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for implementing a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) protocol in a wireless local area network (WLAN). In some aspects, a first WLAN device may transmit a first HARQ frame to a second WLAN device. The first WLAN device may determine whether a first feedback message received from the second WLAN device includes HARQ acknowledgement information or non-HARQ acknowledgment information. The first feedback message may be a HARQ Block Acknowledgement (H-BA) message having a multi-station Block ACK (M-BA) frame format that includes HARQ acknowledgment information. The first WLAN device may transmit a second HARQ frame to the second WLAN device in response to determining the first feedback message includes the HARQ acknowledgment information. The first WLAN device may transmit a non-HARQ frame in response to determining the first feedback message includes non-HARQ acknowledgement information.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for low density parity check (LDPC)-based incremental redundancy (IR) hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmission processing. In one aspect, an apparatus for wireless communications is configured to generate a first packet using a LDPC encoding process. The apparatus is further configured to generate coded bits using a second LDPC encoding process if the first packet is not successfully decoded by a wireless device, generate a second packet including at least some of the coded bits generated using the second LDPC encoding process, and output the second packet for transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An access point (AP) may transmit, to a second AP and during a first portion of a transmission opportunity (TxOP), a request to participate in a multi-user (MU) transmission. The AP may receive, from the second AP and during the first portion of the TxOP, an indication of intent to participate in the MU transmission during the second portion of the TxOP, the indication of intent including a resource request of the second AP for participation in the MU transmission. The AP may transmit, during an initial period of the second portion of the TxOP, a trigger signal to the second AP indicating a set of one or more resources for the second AP during the MU transmission. The AP may participate, in conjunction with the second AP and during the second portion of the TxOP, in the MU transmission.

Abstract: Techniques described herein address these and other issues by providing an architecture of antennas capable of generating a relatively even H-field without exceeding exposure limits, while solving communication issues at the same time. More specifically techniques described herein are directed toward the use of multiple antennas that enable an interrogator device of a biological measurement and stimulation system to power different groups of medical implants at different times by creating fields in different regions of the brain. By doing this, the interrogator device can independently power and/or communicate with groups of medical implants in these different regions and create more evenly-distributed fields while doing so.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An access point (AP) may identify a sequence of on symbols and off symbols for transmission to a wake-up radio (WUR) of a wireless device. The AP may assign a modulation symbol from a set of possible modulation symbol waveforms to at least each on symbol in the sequence. The modulation symbol waveforms may be assigned to sequential on symbols in a random or pseudorandom order, e.g., by applying a random phase rotation to a stored modulation symbol waveform, by applying a random cyclic shift to a stored modulation symbol waveform, or by applying a random or pseudorandom phase-shift keying value to each subcarrier in a multicarrier system to generate a modulation symbol waveform. The AP may transmit the sequence to the WUR based at least in part on the assigned modulation symbol waveforms.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques and apparatus for efficient support of connected discontinuous reception (C-DRX) by using a wireless device (e.g., a user equipment (UE)) with a second receiver. A wireless device with two receivers may place one receiver in a low power mode and take the receiver out of the low power mode in response to a signal received from a serving base station (BS) of the wireless device. A BS may direct a wireless device to enter a low power DRX (LP-DRX) mode or enhanced DRX mode having longer low power cycles than a non-enhanced DRX mode, and the wireless device may place a primary receiver in a low power mode in response to the directive from the BS. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and disclosed.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for generating a multicarrier wakeup signal that is modulated using multiple on-off keying (OOK) patterns. In some cases, the OOK pattern may be constructed using one or more of the following techniques: forward error correction (FEC) coding, spreading, encoding (e.g., DC balance encoding such as Manchester encoding), and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) overlay mapping. The resulting signal may serve to increase the sensitivity of the receiver. The OOK patterns may include on portions and off portions that are indicative of different bit values, such as a one bit or a zero bit. The multicarrier wakeup signal may be decoded by a first radio of a wireless device that compares the energy of the signal over different time periods to determine the bit value. Once determined, the wireless device may choose to activate a second radio for communication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. An access point (AP) may identify a jitter pattern for a wakeup message. A station may listen using a wakeup radio for a wakeup message during wakeup listening periods according to the identified jitter pattern. A station may receive a preamble having a first bandwidth and a wakeup message having a second bandwidth. An AP may transmit an identifier key to a station, and the station may determine a rotating identifier associated with the AP based on the received identifier key. The station may receive a wakeup message from the AP, compare a sender identifier with the rotating identifier, and power on a second radio. A station may also receive a wakeup message that includes an indication of which station are to be activated.

Abstract: Techniques are described in this disclosure of a physical layer design for wakeup messages having multiple types of wakeup messages. Such designs may include a standard wakeup message having a first bit duration and a low-sensitivity wakeup message having a second bit duration. During operation, the access point (AP) may select which type of wakeup message to use when communicating with a wireless device or a group of wireless devices. Wakeup intervals during a low-power mode of the wireless device may be adjusted based at least in part on which type of wakeup message is being used. Parameter values for the wakeup messages may be determined based at least in part on proximity of the wireless device relative to the AP.
