Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit an indication of a downlink beam in uplink control information of a random access message, wherein the downlink beam is different from a default beam corresponding to a preamble of the random access message and a random access occasion in which the random access message is transmitted, or wherein the downlink beam is selected from a set of multiple downlink beams corresponding to the random access occasion. The UE may monitor for at least one of a random access response or a downlink communication subsequent to the random access response using the downlink beam indicated in the uplink control information. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may send coupled configured grants to a transmitter user equipment (UE) and a receiver UE, respectively. For example, when transmitting a pair of configured grants that includes a first configured grant sent to a first UE and a second configured grant sent to a second UE, the base station may include an indication in each of the configured grants that sidelink semi-persistent scheduling resources are activated or deactivated. Additionally, the configured grants may indicate which UE is a receiver and which UE is a transmitter. For instance, the first configured grant may indicate that a first UE is to be the transmitter and a second configured grant indicate that a second UE is to be the receiver.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes transmitting, by a user equipment (UE), a first transmission in a first Channel Occupancy Time (COT) for a NR-U sidelink channel. The method also includes reserving, by the UE, a resource in a non-shared portion of a second COT and performing, by the UE, a Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) Category (CAT) 4 operation at a start of the second COT, wherein the second COT is associated with the UE. The method includes performing, by the UE, a continuous transmission operation in the second COT based on successfully performing the LBT CAT 4 operation. The method further includes transmitting, by the UE, a second transmission in the reserved resource of the non-shared portion of the second COT based on successfully performing a second LBT CAT 1 or 2 operation. A wireless communication device performs a first clear channel assessment (CCA) including a first countdown. The wireless communication device transmits, after a gap period from the first countdown, a first communication signal. The wireless communication device performs a second CCA including a second countdown. Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for sidelink control signaling using unlicensed spectrum. Wireless devices may perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure before accessing a channel of the unlicensed spectrum, and may be unable to access the unlicensed spectrum in some circumstances. In some implementations, a wireless device may leverage resources available for transmitting a sidelink synchronization signal block (S-SSB) for additionally transmitting control signaling. For example, a wireless device may multiplex (such as frequency domain multiplexing) a control signal with a S-SSB, which may be transmitted in accordance with a relaxed LBT threshold. In some implementations, the control signal may include information such as an indication of LBT failure or an LBT status, or may be used to detect a radio link failure (RLF), or may be used the short control signal to synchronize sidelink clusters, among other examples.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a first sidelink control information (SCI) message during a mini-slot of a control resource pool which is decoupled from a data resource pool for sidelink communications. The first SCI message may indicate a data message to be transmitted on a subchannel of the data resource pool to a second UE, where resources between the control resource pool and the data resource pool are mapped. The UE may receive a feedback message from the second UE for the first SCI message during a second mini-slot of the control resource pool. The feedback message may indicate whether a collision or strong interference was detected for the first SCI message. The UE may determine whether to transmit the data message or retransmit the first SCI message based on the feedback message.
