    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may use beamforming to transmit control and data transmissions to a set of user equipments (UEs). A base station may transmit downlink control information (DCI) to UEs that may indicate a set of resource allocations in which the base station may schedule a data transmission, and a respective transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state. The TCI state may indicate which transmission beam the base station may use to transmit a data transmission in a particular resource allocation. The UE may receive and decode the DCI and identify resource allocation information and an index that may indicate one or more TCI states being used for transmitting a broadcast or unicast transmission to the UE within a resource allocation. The UE may select one or more of the resource allocations to monitor for, and subsequently receive, the data transmission.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station in a wireless communications system. The UE may perform a random access procedure to communicate with the base station. The base station may configure the UE with criteria for selecting a transmission mode. The UE may select a transmission mode for transmitting repetitions of physical random access channel (PRACH) transmissions according to current conditions satisfying the criteria. The criteria may be different based on a contention free random access (CFRA) procedure type or a purpose of the CFRA procedure. The transmission modes may include repetitions of PRACH on multiple random access channel (RACH) occasions, multiple component carriers (CCs), multiple frequency allocations of a same CC, superposition of preambles, different RACH resources, or different PRACH formats.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, for measurement and reporting procedures associated with a sidelink positioning reference signal (SL-PRS). In one aspect, a first user equipment (UE), which may function as a sidelink anchor node, may transmit an SL-PRS to a second UE in accordance with a slot format or structure that is dedicated for SL-PRS transmissions. The first UE may select resources for the transmission of the SL-PRS via sensing and exclusion or using a set of resources that are dedicated for SL-PRS transmissions. The second UE may receive the SL-PRS and use the SL-PRS to acquire positioning information, in accordance with an observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA)-based positioning method, or may transmit a second SL-PRS to the first UE to facilitate acquisition of positioning information at the first UE, in accordance with a round-trip-time (RTT)-based positioning method.
