    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for channel state information (CSI) feedback for multiple discrete Fourier transform (DFT) beams on multiple transmission layers. A user equipment (UE) may report a total number of non-zero power DFT beams across all of the transmission layers. The UE may be configured with a total number of leading beams (Ktotal) across all of the transmission layers for which to provide high quantization feedback. When the total number of non-zero DFT beams across all the transmission layers exceeds the configured total number of leading beams across all the transmission layers, the UE may report high-resolution quantization feedback for Ktotal non-zero power precoding coefficients having the highest amplitude coefficients, and may report low-resolution quantization feedback for the remaining non-zero power precoding coefficients. A base station may receive the CSI feedback to determine a precoding matrix.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for signaling quasi-coloration (QCL) information for demodulation reference signals (DM-RS) associated with multiple transmission-reception points (multi-TRP). An example method generally includes generating quasi-colocation (QCL) information indicating a first QCL assumption for a first group of demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) ports and a second QCL assumption for a second group of DM-RS ports; and transmitting the QCL information to at least one user equipment (UE) for use in processing one or more transmission associated with at least one of the first group of DM-RS ports and the second group of DM-RS ports.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to the generation of channel state reports. A base station transmits a reference signal over a plurality of ports. A user equipment (UE) receives the reference signal and measure amplitudes of the reference signal over a plurality of ports. A first subgroup of the plurality of ports and a second subgroup of the plurality of ports are determined. In embodiments, the port groupings may be determined by the base station, which transmits an identification of the groupings to the user equipment. Alternatively, the UE may determine the port groupings. After determining the port groupings, the UE separately quantizes and normalizes the measured amplitude values in each port grouping. The UE may also separately quantize and normalize the phase measurements in each port groups. The UE generates a channel state report based on the normalized and quantized amplitude and phase values.

    Abstract: A method includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE) device, a joint transmission of channel state information (CSI) reference signals (CSI-RS) from a first transmission and reception point (TRP) associated with a wireless network and at least a second TRP associated with the wireless network. The method further includes determining a joint rank parameter associated with the joint transmission and accessing, based on the joint rank parameter, a rank-to-port mapping codebook to determine a port index parameter. The method further includes, after determining the port index parameter, communicating, by the UE device, with one or more of the first TRP or the second TRP. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
