Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for adding and releasing secondary cells in a multi-cell connectivity configuration. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) may transmit UE assistance information to a base station (BS) operating as a master cell in a multi-cell connectivity configuration. The UE assistance information may indicate a process that the BS is to use to add a secondary cell to the multi-cell connectivity configuration, may indicate a time gap for adding a secondary cell after another secondary cell is released from the multi-cell connectivity configuration, as well as other multi-cell connectivity configuration information. The BS may receive the UE assistance information and may add a secondary cell to the multi-cell connectivity configuration based at least in part on the indicated process and time gap.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for wireless communication. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) may generate an indication of a first doppler shift associated with the wireless communication device moving with reference to a first target base station (BS), obtain, from the serving BS, a handover command for conditional handover (CHO) (with the handover command including a first trigger for handover to the first target BS), and synchronize with the first target BS during CHO after the first trigger is met, wherein the first trigger is associated with the first doppler shift. In another aspect, a serving BS generates the handover command for CHO and provides the handover command to the UE. The UE is to synchronize with the first target BS during CHO after the first trigger associated with a first doppler shift is met.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for sharing uplinks in a multiple radio access technology environment. Such techniques may improve transmission and processing of acknowledgment data from a user equipment in the multiple radio access technology environment.
Abstract:
In one instance, a user equipment (UE) compares an expected duration of a tune away procedure with a first time remaining before a discard timer expires, a second time remaining before a downlink reordering timer (DL reordering timer) for adjusting an order of data at a buffer expires, a third time remaining before a retransmission timer expires and/or a fourth time remaining before an expected time to receive acknowledgement feedback ends. The UE also determines whether to adjust a tune away procedure based on the comparing. The tune away procedure may include the UE tuning away from a first radio access technology (RAT) to a second RAT during a communication procedure at the first RAT.
Abstract:
A method and system for wireless communications at a user equipment utilizes buffer status reporting during call setup, including voice-over IP (VoIP) call setup. The UE determines it has no data in a data buffer to send during a call setup. The UE then sends a first scheduling request and a non-zero buffer status for the data buffer during the call setup before a data inactivity timer expires.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) improves handover throughput by reducing communication interruptions during a handover transition. To reduce the communication interruptions, the UE determines whether to perform a synchronization channel decoding procedure for a synchronized handover to a second radio access technology (RAT) after receiving a handover command from one or more serving cells of a first RAT. The determination includes determining whether a communication condition is satisfied and performing the synchronized handover based on whether the communication condition is satisfied. The synchronization channel decoding procedure includes frequency correction channel (FCCH) tone detection and/or synchronization channel (SCH) decoding after the UE transitions to a target cell of the second RAT.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) adjusts a rate of performing searches and/or measurements of neighbor cells to conserve resources of the UE. In one instance, the UE independently determines whether to perform the searches and/or measurements of the neighbor cells of first and second RATs based on a signal quality of a serving cell of a first RAT and/or a signal quality of the neighbor cell(s) of the first RAT. The UE avoids performing the searches and/or measurements of the neighbor cell(s) when the signal quality of the serving cell is above a first threshold. The UE selectively performs the searches and/or measurements when the signal quality of the serving cell is above a second threshold and below the first threshold, and the signal quality of the neighbor cell(s) of the first RAT is above the second threshold or a third threshold.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for wireless communication prioritizes which frequencies to measure when performing cell reselection in a wireless network. A measurement time is distributed among detected cells of a low priority frequency based at least in part on whether each detected cell meets a cell reselection trigger condition.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) receives a circuit switched page from a first base station of a first radio access technology (RAT) and a command instructing the UE to redirect from the first base station to a second RAT. The UE identifies a second base station of the second RAT in response to receiving the command. The second base station is the strongest base station in the second RAT and has a location area code. The UE determines whether the location area code corresponds to a location area code associated with a previous successful redirection attempt from the first base station. The UE redirects to the second RAT based at least in part on the determining.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) including a single receiver tunes away from a first communication entity to perform a communication activity for a second communication entity during a network configured measurement gap associated with a first communication entity. In one instance, the user equipment performs the communication activity for the second SIM when the user equipment determines that a page of the second SIM occurs during the network configured measurement gap. The UE also performs inter radio access technology (IRAT) measurement during the network configured measurement gap.
