摘要: Systems are provided that include a wireless hand-held inertial controller with passive optical and inertial tracking in a slim form-factor. These systems are configured for use with a head mounted virtual or augmented reality display device (HMD) that operates with six degrees of freedom by fusing (i) data related to the position of the controller derived from a forward-facing optical sensor located in the HMD with (ii) data relating to the orientation of the controller derived from an inertial measurement unit located in the controller.

摘要: Embodiments are disclosed that relate to processing image pixels. For example, one disclosed embodiment provides a system for classifying pixels comprising retrieval logic; a pixel storage allocation including a plurality of pixel slots, each pixel slot being associated individually with a pixel, where the retrieval logic is configured to cause the pixels to be allocated into the pixel slots in an input sequence; pipelined processing logic configured to output, for each of the pixels, classification information associated with the pixel; and scheduling logic configured to control dispatches from the pixel slots to the pipelined processing logic, where the scheduling logic and pipelined processing logic are configured to act in concert to generate the classification information for the pixels in an output sequence that differs from and is independent of the input sequence.

摘要: Modifications are performed to cause a style of an image to match a different style. A first image is accessed, where the first image has the first style. A second image is also accessed, where the second image has a second style. Subsequent to a deep neural network (DNN) learning these styles, a copy of the first image is fed as input to the DNN. The DNN modifies the first image copy by transitioning the first image copy from being of the first style to subsequently being of the second style. As a consequence, a modified style of the transitioned first image copy bilaterally matches the second style.

摘要: Disclosed herein are techniques for providing an illumination system that emits illumination into an environment while also enabling that system to be undetectable to certain types of external light detection systems. The system includes a single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) low light (LL) detection device and a light emitting device. The light emitting device provides illumination having a wavelength of at least 950 nanometers (nm). An intensity of the illumination is set to a level that causes the illumination to be undetectable from a determined distance away based on the roll off rate of the light. While the light emitting device is providing the illumination, the SPAD LL detection device generates an image of an environment in which the illumination is being provided.

摘要: A method for enhancing digital imagery. The method comprises receiving a linear, intensity-based image of an environment. A histogram of intensity values is generated for a plurality of pixels within the linear, intensity-based image. Based on the histogram of intensity values, local contrast enhancement is applied to the linear, intensity-based image to generate a contrast enhanced version of the linear, intensity-based image, and artificial colorization is applied to the linear, intensity-based image to generate an artificially colorized version of the linear, intensity-based image. A composite image of the environment is then generated based on at least a portion of the contrast enhanced version of the linear, intensity-based image and at least a portion of the artificially colorized version of the linear, intensity-based image.

摘要: An image sensor configured to capture imagery with mitigated noise includes a plurality of image sensing pixels arranged to form a sensor array. Each image sensing pixel of the plurality of image sensing pixels comprises an active area configured to receive photons to facilitate image capture. Each active area comprises a length and a width. For at least one image sensing pixel of the plurality of image sensing pixels, the length or the width of the active area is smaller than about 80% of a pixel pitch measurement between the at least one image sensing pixel and an adjacent image sensing pixel. A size of the active area relative to the pixel pitch measurement contributes to mitigating sensor noise for the image sensor.

摘要: A system for generating high-resolution video from low-resolution images is configured to access a first video stream and a second video stream capturing an environment. The first video stream is captured by a first video capture device. The second video stream is captured by a second video capture device. Image frames of the first video stream are temporally synchronized with corresponding image frames of the second video stream. The system is also configured to generate a composite video stream with a higher resolution than the first or second video streams. Each composite image frame of the composite video stream is generated using a respective image frame of the first video stream and a temporally synchronized corresponding image frame of the second video stream as input.
