Abstract: A communication management resource partitions allocated wireless bandwidth into a first portion (such as first virtual bandwidth or first bandwidth part) and a second portion (such as virtual bandwidth or second bandwidth part). The communication management resource determines wireless interference associated with transmission of first wireless communications over the different bandwidth portions such as from a wireless base station to multiple communication devices while in a first mode. Depending on the wireless interference determined during the first mode, the communication management resource controls conveyance of second wireless communications over the allocated wireless bandwidth to the multiple communication devices in a second mode. In one instance, the communication management system operates one or more communication devices in a device-to-device mode to alleviate wireless interference associated with use of the allocated wireless bandwidth.

Abstract: Uplink resource allocation in fixed wireless access (FWA) networks using wireless controllers is described. The method includes allocating shared spectrum to a Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) device (CBSD), wirelessly connecting customer premises equipment (CPE) of a FWA network to the CBSD, receiving scheduling requests (SRs) from the CPE, transmitting a grant with allocated uplink resources to the CPE, sending CBSD information, CPE information, and allocated uplink resource information to a wireless controller, transmitting to the CPE a message to use previously allocated uplink resources until a defined event when the CBSD lacks downlink transmission capability, sending instructions to the wireless controller to start monitoring uplink communication channels while the CBSD lacks the downlink transmission capability, sending a request to the CBSD to assign additional uplink resources when determining an increase in uplink communications, and transmitting a grant to the CPE for the additional uplink resources.

Abstract: Various embodiments comprise systems, methods, architectures, mechanisms and apparatus for creating coverage zones (CZs) at a Citizens Broadband Radio Service Device (CBSD) nodes where each CZ is defined by a respective Physical layer Cell Identity (PCI), and each CZ is allocated a respective time slot having a duration selected in accordance with a type of wireless device (WD) to be supported by the CZ, and each CZ communicates during its respective time slot via some or all of the antennas or antenna sections (e.g., coverage areas or sections S1-S3) of the node such that the node communicates with different types of WD in a time-interleaved manner via some or all of the coverage areas associated with the node.

Abstract: Various embodiments comprise systems, methods, architectures, mechanisms and apparatus for allocating resources in a converged network to support, illustratively, Long Term Evolution (LTE) Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) transmission for supplemental downlink mode. Various embodiments contemplate allowing LTE eNBs having CBSD capability to use spectrum normally associated with a wireless access point (WAP) if such spectrum can be made available based on, for example, WiFi spectrum or channel measurements of interference such as provided by UE proximate the WAP and connected to the CBSD.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing backhaul capacity to a first Citizens Broadband Radio Service Device (CBSD) using a device to device connection to a second CBSD. An exemplary method embodiment includes operating a first Citizens Broadband Radio Service Device (CBSD) to: (i) establish a wireless device to device (D2D) communications link with a second CBSD using D2D wireless communications resources; (ii) send, via the D2D communications link, a first backhaul resource reservation signal to the second CBSD to reserve a first portion of a communications backhaul extending from the second CBSD to a service provider communication network; and (iii) communicate data for a user equipment device (UE) being served by the first CBSD to said service provider communications network via said D2D communications link and the communications backhaul extending from the second CBSD.

Abstract: A first subscriber identification module (SIM) of a dual SIM device is connected to a network. A small cell is informed that the dual SIM device is a dual SIM-type device and a first radio frequency device of the dual SIM device is attached to the network. A second radio frequency device of the dual SIM device is attached to the network. The small cell is configured to treat a second SIM as a control SIM and to treat the first SIM a data SIM. User data is transferred to the first radio frequency device, a control channel switch command is sent to the dual SIM device, and control information is transferred to the second radio frequency device.

Abstract: A communication system includes a wireless base station and a channel allocation management resource. The wireless base station receives allocation of a first wireless channel from a communication management resource. Via the first wireless channel, the wireless base station establishes a first communication layer in which to communicate with first wireless communication devices using the allocated first wireless channel. The wireless base station establishes a second communication layer in which to communicate with second wireless communication devices using the allocated first wireless channel. Via the first communication layer and the second communication layer, the wireless base station provides the first wireless communication devices and that the second wireless communication devices access to a respective remote network.

Abstract: A gateway communication resource provides access to a remote network over a communication link. For example, a communication management resource (such as in a subscriber domain) receives log information associated with the gateway communication resource. The log information indicates an operational status of the gateway communication resource. The communication management resource also receives performance threshold information in which to analyze performance of the communication resource. Via application of the performance threshold information to the log information, the communication management resource generates a performance report indicative of a performance status of the gateway communication resource communicating over the communication link.
