摘要: A talking metronome is disclosed which is programmable to generate a human voice pattern of a sequence of numbers at a selected tempo (mm) and time signature (cadence) at one or more beat patterns. The time signatures are produced from quarter, eighth and sixteenth note beat patterns and all other varied combinations of beat patterns known to music. The voice pattern in the preferred embodiment is generated by synthesized speech.

摘要: A voice-synthesizer timepiece capable of providing advance announcement before time settings and reciting time setting is required already entered, in the form of synthesized voices is disclosed. For example, in the voice-synthesizer timepiece disclosed herein, an audible message "please set time in hours and minutes soon" is given in advance of a time set mode and time settings are audibly recalled in such a form as "X (in hours) and Y (in minutes) have already set" after the setting of time.

摘要: An electronic clock emitting half-hourly time signals corresponding to sh' bells comprises an electromagnetic striker driven by a crystal-controlled oscillator via a multistage binary frequency divider whose last several stages, with the exception of the penultimate stage, have outputs interconnected by a logical coincidence gate to generate a succession of output pulses occurring in pairs during the first half of every cycle of a square wave emitted by the final stage. This square wave steps a motor which drives an associated clockwork entraining a multibank rotary switch and alternately closing, for short periods on the full hour and on the half hour, respective contacts which transmit the square wave to a control circuit including an electronic pulse counter. The control circuit, on being triggered by the second half of a wave cycle, emits an enabling signal which unblocks another gate in cascade with the coincidence gate to pass one or more output pulses to the striker for operating same, with simultaneous stepping of the pulse counter which terminates the enabling signal when its count matches a signal code generated by the rotary switch.

In one embodiment the data processing system includes a manually operable input device, a control circuit responsive to a first electrical signal indicative of the operation of the input device for generating a control signal and a sound generating device responsive to the control signal for being excited into mechanical motion to generate an audible sound and provide a tactile feedback for the user. In another embodiment, the data processing system includes a timekeeping circuit for providing a plurality of time-related functions and a control circuit which is responsive to a second electrical signal generated periodically at selected time intervals by the timekeeping circuit for activating the sound generating device to provide an audible sound periodically at the selected time intervals, such as, for example, at one second intervals, during the operation of the system.

摘要: A repeatedly operable timer is adapted such that preselected time information is reloaded automatically upon lapse of that preselected time information. There are provided an input unit for introduction of preselectable time information, a first and a second storages for storing the same preselectable time information introduced, a subtractor effecting subtraction at a given interval on the time information stored in the first storage, a detector which detects if the time information in the first storage reaches zero as a result of the subtraction, and a control which permits the time information in the second storage to be transferred into the first storage in response to the output of the zero detector.

摘要: An electronic timepiece is arranged to give an audible time signal indicative of the current time when a user operates an externally manually operable switch means. The operation of the switch means causes a signal emitting means responsive to information relating to the current time to emit a time signal which preferably includes a portion representing a zone within which the current time lies, and a further portion indicative of the current unit of time within the zone. In a preferred embodiment, the signal comprises two parts, one indicating the current hour and the other indicating the current minute.

摘要: A signal-generating system for a striker clock comprises a clockwork-driven hour disk (12) having conductor tracks which coact with respective contact springs of an hour switch (13) whose pattern of energization changes from one quarter hour to the next, thereby calling forth different numerical values which are stored in a first read-only memory (18) and determine the number of strikes to be emitted in any 15-minute interval when a switch (8) coupled with the minute shaft of the clock is briefly closed. A flip-flop (23) set upon such closure starts a periodically pulsed binary counter (25) which works into a comparator (20) also receiving the numerical value read out from the first memory (18); when the count matches that value, the comparator resets the flip-flop and the counter. The reading of the counter is further transmitted to a decoder (30) addressing a second read-only memory (31) which actuates selected sound emitters (37a-37f) the requisite number of times. The selection of the sound emitters proceeds under a program stored in the second memory (31 ) which could be modified, periodically under the control of the first memory (18) or manually, to vary the acoustic effect. The flip-flop, pulse counter and comparator could be replaced by a microcomputer with input connections to the clockwork-driven minute and hour switches (8, 13) and to the two memories (18, 31) and with outputs for the selective actuation of the sound emitters (37a-37f).

摘要: An electronic watch having a time counter circuit for developing a count representative of present time, a second time counter circuit for developing a count representative of time, and a chronograph counter circuit for developing a count representative of elapsed time. A predetermined time is stored in a memory circuit and the contents of the second time counter and the memory circuit are compared by a coincidence detecting circuit. When coincidence occurs a sound generating circuit is enabled for developing sound pulses to represent coincidence. A display visually displays time, and a display switching circuit switches between the present time counter, the memory circuit and the chronograph counter for applying the contents of a selected one thereof in order to visually display present time, the predetermined time and a time interval determined by the chronograph counter. A control circuit is effective for controlling the display switching circuit and operating the watch in different modes. The watch further includes an encoder for developing signals encoded in Morse code, and a sound signal generator for developing audio signals encoded in Morse code. A second switching circuit receives the output of the display switching circuit and, in response to control signals, applies the display switching circuit output to the encoder.

摘要: A circuit provides a ramp voltage for purposes of controlling simultaneously a pair of transistors from saturation to cutoff and vice versa. Means are provided for generating an electronic strike and chime tone which is connected both to an amplifier circuit and the transistor controlled to cutoff. A tuner circuit which is part of the radio to provide a radio tone likewise is connected both to the amplifier and the transistor controlled to saturation. The circuit is provided with an enabling input at an alarm time and by dissipating the tones by varying percentages as the transistors change their state, a crescendo-decrescendo action may be obtained.
