Abstract: A self-aligning dome nut having a base member for connection into a hole or aperture of a mounting plate by a pressing operation. The base member has a neck portion on one side for connection into the hole and a cavity on its other side into which a nut member is loosely positioned. A protective dome encloses the cavity and covers the nut member. The dome is connected to the base member to leave an exposed portion on its other side for direct application of a clamping force during attachment of the dome nut to the support member. An insulting washer is disposed around the neck portion of the base member between it and the mounting plate, the insulating washer is sized to electrically isolate the nut from the support member and preclude electrical arcing therebetween.

Abstract: This invention provides a sealed fastener that includes a housing and a nut assembly, the housing having a base and a receptacle extending beyond the base on one side, an annular seal being positioned on the opposite side of the base and engaged by a flange of the receptacle which holds the receptacle to the base. The nut assembly includes a threaded member within the receptacle and a sleeve extending through an opening into the base and beyond the opposite side of the base. The sleeve is bendable outwardly to form a flange to cooperate with the base in holding the fastener to a workpiece, the seal including a bead which will engage such a workpiece and prevent leakage when the flange on the sleeve is so formed.

Abstract: An arrangement for anchoring a mounting element in a hole of a masonry and the like with the use of binding material has a sleeve-shaped mounting element insertable in the hole and having an axis and an inner bore adapted to receive therein a threaded element, a plurality of retaining members arranged on the mounting element for fixing the latter in the hole, which retaining members extend transversely to the axis of the sleeve-shaped element and taper towards a wall of the hole, and a flange arranged at a trailing end of the mounting element so as to close a hole and having an opening for mounting a feeding device, feeding the binding material into the hole. The retaining members have throughgoing apertures through which the binding material flows so as to reliably fill the hole. The retaining members are preferably wedge-shaped. The feeding device may be inserted not only in the opening of the flange but also directly in the inner bore of the mounting element. An additional sheath may be provided for preventing escape of the binding material through a gap between the masonry and an additional structure to be mounted thereto.

Abstract: A self contained nut assembly to allow self nut locking and unlocking for use with a support member. The nut assembly comprises an upper nut containing a pronged locking sleeve. The nut and locking sleeve fit onto a threaded element projecting through a support member. The prongs of the locking sleeve are fashioned with feet for engagement with the support member to restrain selective movement therebetween. Abstract: A panel extruding nut for use with a thread forming screw and adapted to be mechanically secured to a flat sheet basal member, the nut including a body having opposed flat surfaces and opposed coaxial first and second bores, the first bore having a diameter slightly larger than the minor diameter of the screw thread, the second bore having a diameter which, together with two extruded or drawn thicknesses of the basal member, is substantially equal to the diameter of the first bore.
