摘要:
Building material based on hydraulic binder and ballast in the form of a levelling compound intended to be applied to an uneven support. The building material contains a salt which does not essentially effect the strength of the material and is present in such an amount and has such capacity as to reduce the relative equilibrium moisture of the gas phase of the material before drying out to a level of less than about 95%.

Oxo-polycarboxylic acids act as set control agents, preferably as set retarders for plasters. Examples of usable acids are 2,2,6,6-tetra(.beta.-carboxyethyl)cyclohexanone, 2,2-di(.beta.-carboxyethyl)-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexanone or 3-acetyl-3(.beta.-carboxyethyl)-pimelic acid. Also the salts of these acids are usable. The set control agents are added to the plaster in amounts of 5 to 5000 ppm.

Compositions and mixes of calcium aluminate cement with or without aggregates and with controlled amounts of calcium formate and preparation of the same, which significantly accelerate the setting times and early compressive strength gain of the product formed after addition of water for hydraulic setting of the cement.By careful control of composition and particularly of amount of calcium formate included, new calcium aluminate cement compositions and mixes are provided, useful for patching, topping and other uses where fast setting, and high early strength characteristics are required.

A hydrophobic cement especially suited for soil stabilization which comprises a certain amount of a mixture of tertiary, saturated, aliphatic monocarboxylic acids of certain carbon atom content. The improved stabilized soils comprising the cement.

FOAMS OF BASIC ALUMINUM SALTS AND FIBROUS MATERIALS ARE PREPARED BY MIXING FROM 2 TO 40 WEIGHT PERCENT OF A WATER DISPERSIBLE POLYMERIC ALUMINUM SALT, SUCH AS BASIC ALUMINUM CHLORIDE, WITH WATER AND FROM 0.02 TO 4 PERCENT OF AN ANIONIC ORGANIC ACID COMPOUND CONTAINING FROM 6 TO 18 CARBON ATOMS PER ACID GROUP, SUCH AS SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE, AND FROM 2 TO 10 PARTS BY WEIGHT, BASED ON THE WEIGHT OF BASIC ALUMINUM SALT, OF MACROFIBROUS MATERIAL SUCH AS WOOD PULP AND FOAMING THE MIXTURE. THE RESULTING FOAMS DRY TO FORM RIGID STRONG LOW-DENSITY STRUCTURES.
