Abstract:
A digital audio gateway device for use in a wireless network of digital audio playback devices. The gateway device is wirelessly linked to one or more digital audio playback devices to provide a gateway to the Internet for the digital audio playback devices. In addition to functioning as a gateway, the device provides additional functionality and may act as a cache of digital audio data for the various digital audio players connected in the wireless network and may also act to automatically update digital audio content on the audio players, synchronize digital audio content and playlists between the digital audio players and continue automatically or upon user request a particular playlist as the user moves from one digital audio player to another.
Abstract:
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a method at a residential gateway device that registers at least one mobile phone number with the residential gateway device via a femtocell integrated with the residential gateway device when a mobile device associated with the at least one mobile phone number is within range of the femtocell, registers at least one voice over internet protocol phone number with the residential gateway device, and selectively receives and makes calls using one of a set top box registered with the residential gateway device, the mobile device registered with the femtocell, a voice over internet protocol phone corresponding to the at least one voice over internet protocol phone number. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract:
A manner of extending a home network to a mobile device. An SG (signaling gateway) is provided to receive register an HA (home agent) and an FA (foreign agent) and form a secure tunnel to each to form a communication channel. A heartbeat may be exchanged with the HA to keep open the NAT boundary for the communication channel. If a high bandwidth application request is received from the HA, the SG determines if there is a PS (proxy server) able to handle the session and, if so, transfers the channel.
Abstract:
A data storing system and data processing method of the informational household appliance are provided. The system includes: one or plurality of home database server of informational household appliance which connected with each other, one or plurality of household gateway server, and one or plurality of data managing server of informational household appliance. The data processing method includes: the data processing method of the informational household appliance on-lining, off-lining and status data updating thereof, and the current status of informational household appliance in real-time reflects to the data managing server of informational household appliance through the household gateway server by this data processing method. The data of the informational household appliance can be stored separately from the informational household appliance, and the data of the informational household appliance can be unitedly managed by the system and method.
Abstract:
A circuit switching user agent system includes a service processing device arranged in a home network of an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem)/MMD (Multi-Media Domain). The circuit switching user agent system also includes a communication device arranged in a visited network where a mobile terminal has visited, the communication device having a function of interconversion between a UNI (User-Network Interface) signal in a circuit switching network to which the mobile terminal is connected and a signal used in the IMS/MMD.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a combined user agent, which acts on behalf of multiple packet-based communication clients that may have different media capabilities. The combined user agent allows the different communication clients to cooperate with one another and participate in the same multimedia session. Different ones of the communication clients may support different types of media sessions. The combined user agent may present a single interface, which is associated with a single identification, on behalf of the supported communication clients to remote communication clients. As such, the combined user agent may appear to remote communication clients as a single communication client having the combined capabilities of the supported communication clients.
Abstract:
Certain exemplary embodiments can comprise a method of use comprising: for a call between a local IP network and a remote non-IP network, converting between IP packets and PCM robbed bit signaling via a VoIP channelized router; providing the PCM robbed bit signaling to a TDM switch via the VoIP channelized router; and/or converting between IP packets and GR303 call reference values via the VoIP channelized router.
Abstract:
A Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) cable modem system is coupled to: i) via a local area internet protocol (IP) network, a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) device operating Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for signaling a VoIP session; and ii) via a DOCSIS network, a cable modem termination system (CMTS) via a network. The cable modem system comprises instructions stored in a memory and executed by a processor. The instructions comprise: i) in response to receiving a frame via the local area IP network, determining if the frame is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) invite message signaling a VoIP session with a remote endpoint; and ii) in response to determining that the frame is a SIP invite message, generating a DOCSIS message to the CMTS to request an addition of reserved bandwidth on the DOCSIS network for the VoIP session.
Abstract:
A Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) proxy server is described. The VoIP proxy server is placed in a DMZ of a company's secure internal communication network. The VoIP proxy server receives VoIP control messages and VoIP media streams and based on the MAC address and source IP address contained in the control message, pushes a policy change to the internal network's external firewall to open call control protocol ports and Real Time Protocol (RTP) ports only for packets from the source IP address. The VoIP proxy server manages the hiding of the company's internal network address and directs incoming VoIP packets to an IP-PBX connected to the company's internal network.
