    摘要: A variable capacitor is provided wherein a reinforcing plate is utilized in the rotor assembly in order to increase the range of the capacitor. The capacitor includes the stator plate and first electrode, the stator plate supporting a lead pin and a rotor positioning member, the rotor positioning member being rotatably mounted thereon. The rotor positioning member rotatably supports a uniformly thick rotor assembly in rotatable friction contact with the stator plate and first electrode. The rotor assembly includes a dielectric, a second capacitor electrode and a reinforcing plate, the thickenss of the dielectric determining the minimum value of capacitance of the variable capacitor. The rotor assembly also includes a fixed spring secured to the positioning member, the lead pin and fixed spring being adapted to facilitate use of variable capacitor in small-size electronic instrumentation.

    摘要: A vertical adjustable capacitor assembly includes a tubular dielectric bodyn which are embedded two diametrically opposed cylindrically curved electrically conductive plates. One plate serves as a stator plate and extends through one end of the tubular body to contact a terminal element at the bottom thereof. The other plate extends through both ends of the tubular body with one end of the plate contacting another terminal element at the bottom of the tubular body and the upper end of this plate is in direct electric circuit with the head of an electrically conductive rotary rotor having a shaft rotatably fitted in the axial, cylindrical bore of the tubular body. An arcuate member mounted on top of the tubular body prevents the rotor from axial movement while permitting rotation of the rotor. Rotation of the rotor through 180.degree. in either direction from a center position of minimum capacitance, tunes the capacitor assembly through its entire range.

    摘要: An electronic watch or other timepiece has a clockwork driven by an electronic oscillator having a quartz crystal. A variable trimmer condenser is connected in parallel with this crystal for adjusting the operating frequency of the oscillator and hence the accuracy of the watch. A counter-electrode or armature closely spaced from a fixed plate of this trimmer condenser is carried on or forms part of a bimetallic strip which normally lies against an abutment in the condenser housing so that only when the ambient temperature passes a predetermined threshold does the strip pull away from the abutment and later the capacitance of the condenser, thereby changing the operating frequency of the oscillator in a manner calculated to compensate for the effects of temperature variations on the crystal and to maintain that frequency stable within narrow limits. The strip can be arranged to make such compensation above or below the threshold whose value can be adjusted with the aid of the coacting setscrew.
