    摘要: The total mass flowrate of a multiphase fluid flowstream such as a water, oil and gas mixture being produced from subterranean wells is determined by passing the flowstream through an apparatus which forces a substantial change in direction of the fluid flowstream and wherein a pressure differential is measured across flow paths of known cross-sectional flow area. The total mass flow is determined from the cross-sectional flow areas, the measured total density of the flowstream and the differential pressure. A sample of the flowstream is withdrawn from the flow path, gas is separated from liquid and the liquid fraction of water is measured by passing the liquid mixture through a device which measures the dielectric constant of the liquid mixture using microwave radiation transmissivity or differential pressure between columns of the liquid mixture and a column of water of equal height is compared. Total density of the flowstream may be obtained by measuring differential pressures across changes in elevation of the flowstream.

    摘要: The separator accepts both the casing annulus and tubing production streams issuing from an in situ combustion project production well. Most of the gas in the flow is first separated from the liquid and solids, by centrifugal action. This gas is removed from the separator. The remaining mixture is accumulated until a pre-determined weight is in hand, at which point the accumulated batch is dumped. The time taken to accumulate the batch is noted. Computational elements then determine the mass flow rate of the dumped mixture.The separator comprises an upright cylindrical vessel having tangential inlet means at its upper end and a dump outlet at its base. The gas-liquid-solids production mixture enters the vessel chamber through the inlet means and is spun, to form a central gas vortex and an outer, downwardly descending liquid-solids mixture. The separated gas leaves the chamber through an outlet line at the upper end of the vessel. The liquid-solids mixture accumulates as a batch in a collection zone in the lower end of the vessel chamber. Elements are provided for maintaining a generally constant backpressure in the vessel, to provide the drive needed for discharging the batch of liquid-solids mixture therefrom. A pair of pressure sensors are positioned in the chamber, one at the base of the chamber and the other part way up its length. These pressure sensors are connected with a unit adapted to measure the pressure differential and emit a signal indicative thereof. When the pressure differential signals reach a pre-determined value, a dump valve in the outlet line is opened by elements responsive to the signals. When the pressure differential signals reach a pre-determined minimum value, the dump valve is closed. A computer is utilized to calculate the liquid mass flow rate from the weight and time measurements.

The total time t occupied by said gravity flows is measured, as is the amount W of milk required to fill the upper chamber to said low level; and the milk yield is calculated by adding the values Qt and W. A vacuum is maintained in the lower chamber to draw air thereto from the upper chamber through an air passage by-passing said gravity flow, and milk and air are withdrawn by suction from the lower chamber.

    摘要: A volumetric apparatus for milk (FIG. 1) for use by milking plants in the direct measurement of the quantity of milk collected from a cow in milking. The instrument comprises a vacuum separating chamber 1 for separation of the milk from the milk-air mixture drawn from the cow and, following said separating chamber, a measuring chamber 7 for the milk which at its lower end is provided with a milk outlet opening 15 and a valve plug 16 for selectively closing of said outlet opening. The measuring chamber is outfitted with a measuring means, and the separating chamber 1 is connected to the measuring chamber (7) through a constantly open inlet opening (6) of such size that the same pressure prevails in both chambers throughout the measuring operation. A collecting means follows the measuring chamber and communicates with the measuring chamber for receiving milk therefrom when the outlet opening 15 is opened by the valve plug. An air-conducting pipe (8) extends from adjacent the separating chamber to the collecting means. The measuring means is adapted to make partial quantity measurements while the inflow of milk into the measuring chamber (7) continues.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for metering a flow of a liquid, such as a milk flow in a milking system. The liquid is passed into a metering or measuring chamber from which it is discharged in portions having substantially the same mass or weight, and the total number of liquid portions discharged is counted whereafter the total mass or weight of the liquid flow may be calculated on the basis of that count.The discharge operation is controlled by a float member arranged within the metering chamber and containing a magnet which may actuate reed switches positioned at different levels along the metering chamber. Each liquid portion is discharged from the metering chamber by exposing the chamber to a gas pressure substantially exceeding the pressure at the discharge end of a metering chamber outlet. The metering chamber is preferably partly defined by a bell-shaped valve body controlling the metering chamber inlet and being movable to its closed position under the influence of said gas pressure. The apparatus may contain special means for metering a last fraction of a liquid portion as well as means for reducing formation of foam within the metering chamber.
