Abstract:
The modular molding system of the present invention comprises a plurality of modular molding sections for covering the joint formed between a vertical wall and a ceiling to create a crown molding. The sections, preferably formed of a thin plastic vacuum-molded material, include an angled faced portion and a horizontal alignment portion interconnected with the angled face portion. The molding sections include a first straight end and a second angled end. The angled ends are used for forming coped corner moldings, the angled end of one section contacting the face of another section at a right angle. A desired length of linear molding is formed by overlapping the straight end of a first section over the angled end of a second section. This process can be repeated to form a molding of desired length. The molding sections are flexible to abut to an uneven surface of a vertical wall. The horizontal alignment portion carries an adhesive which allows the molding to be adhered to a ceiling. The horizontal alignment portion has a dual purpose of providing a surface for carrying the adhesive, as well as providing a means for easily insuring that the molding is properly spaced from a vertical wall.

A foam faux tray ceiling system having elongated tiles shaped and sized so as to be joinable to one another and thereby form a faux tray ceiling. Each tile is made of a lightweight polymer foam and has a decorative surface, attachment surface, inner edge, outer edge, and two connection edges. The inner edges are preferably decoratively finished and the outer edges are flat.

Appropriate fitting-out structures for moist rooms for which retaining sections (9) are used featuring a sloping flap (11) at the point where it is overlapping the flooring (1). The sections (9) are directly glued with structural bonding agent onto the structure below (7). The flooring (1) is then laid and consists of a floor foundation (4), a decorative finishing coat (5), a transparent resin topping (6) with anti-slip characteristics and an anti-scratch and anti-wear blanket. The retaining section (9) has a lower horizontal edge (10) which is glued onto the structure below (7) and continues with a 45null sloping flap (11) having the same height as the flooring (1) and after a horizontal length (12) where it meets the corner (13), the section is rounded off and follows a vertical path (14) terminating at the top with a sloping edge (15) while it has a horizontal rim (16) at the rear. Abstract:
A method of installing flooring to a bathroom floor which utilizes a coving cap attached to a bathtub wall or shower enclosure, to form a waterproof and flexible seal. The edge of the flooring material is inserted into an inverted “J” shaped coving cap, which traps the edge of the flooring, but allows it to move up and down slightly. The corners of the flooring are mitered and sealed to form a waterproof corner, and the entire floor becomes a waterproof basin.

A molding which is designed to be secured between a wall and a window. The molding comprises an elongated angled member with first and second side walls. Each of the side walls has front and rear surfaces with a groove formed therebetween. A double faced adhesive strip is secured to the rear surface of one of the side walls. A pair of substantially flat members are provided. Each of the flat members is adapted to be friction fit in and extend from a corresponding one of the grooves in the side walls of the angled member. Each of the flat members has an adhesive strip secured to the rear surface thereof in order to allow one of the flat members to be secured to the window and the other flat member to be secured to the wall.

The cove base is made from a relatively thin extruded vinyl and has a height dimension which is substantially greater than the thickness. Although the cove base is used as a top set base and covers imperfections in the outer edges of floor tiles or the like, it has the appearance of a straight base in that it does not include a rounded toe. The cove base is wedge shaped in that it is thinner at the top and gradually thickens toward the bottom while the front surface remains substantially planar. A flexible projection which is a continuation of the front surface extends slightly downwardly and conforms to any high or low spots that may be in the flooring. This projection also defines a space behind the projection and beneath the remaining parts of the cove base which may be used to contain a foam strip or caulking material. The cove base, the foam strip and/or the caulking material may include an antimicrobial agent therein.
