    Abstract: The mechanism is incorporated in a conveyor system of the type which propels vehicles, or pallets, by frictional contact between a rotating drive shaft and a drive wheel carried by the vehicle. The disclosed conveyor system includes two such rotating drive shafts and associated parallel tracks. The mechanism transfers the vehicles from one set of parallel tracks to the other via concentric tracks. An upright drive shaft drives a radiallyextending pivoted arm on which is mounted an elongaged, arcuate member. The member has a downwardly inclined ramp at its front to ride over any preceding vehicle, and a depending dog at its rear to engage the vehicle and advance it. A ramp raises the arm at the outlet of the concentric tracks to disengage the vehicle, and lowers the arm to operative position at the inlet thereof.

    Abstract: A PROPULSION SYSTEM FOR AN INDIVIDUAL CAR OF A RAILWAY TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM COMPRISES A ROTATING DRIVE TUBE EXTENDING LONGITUDINALLY OF AND RESILIENTLY SUPPORTED FROM THE CHASSIS OF THE CARI IN POSITION TO COOPERATE WITH REACTION WHEELS SPACED ALONG THE PATH OF THE CAR AT INTERVALS LESS THAN THE LENGTH OF THE DRIVE TUBE. THE DRIVE TUBE IS DRIVEN AT A GENERALLY CONSTANT SPEED SO THAT THE SPEED OF THE CAR PAST ANY REACTION WHEEL IS DETERMINED BY THE ANGULAR POSITION OF THE REACTION WHEEL RELATIVE TO THE DRIVE TUBE. SOME OF THE REACTION WHEELS ARE JOURNALLED IN PIVOTABLE MOUNTINGS TO BE RESPONSIVE TO EXTERNAL CONTROLS FOR VARYING THE SPEED OF THE CAR PAST THE WHEEL. AUXILIARY POWER MAY BE SUPPLIED DIRECTLY TO A REACTION WHEEL TO SUPPLEMENT THE POWER SUPPLIED THROUGH THE DRIVE TUBE. THE REACTION WHEELS MAY BE USED IN LATERALLY SPACED PAIRS TO CRADLE THE DRIVE TUBE AND THUS GUIDE THE CAR.

    Abstract: A traveling route structure of a conveying traveling body has a traveling route with an area intersecting a crossing aisle, and has a movable rail horizontally openable and closable between a connection working position that connects guide rails in front and rear of the crossing aisle and a retracting position lateral to the crossing aisle. The movable rail has front and a rear movable rails arranged in a line when the movable rails are in the connection working position. Each of the movable rails is pivotally supported so as to be horizontally rotatable about a vertical spindle at each outer end portion positioned outside of the crossing aisle. A locking means couples inner end portions of both movable rails together, with the inner end portions being adjacent to each other when the movable rails are in the connection working position.

    Abstract: A conveyor system is provided that comprises at least two types of drive tube couplings that are interchangeable. In one embodiment, the conveyor system comprises a plurality of first drive tube couplings and a plurality of second drive tube couplings. The first drive tube couplings comprise a base portion and an elongated portion that extends from the face of the base portion. The second drive tube couplings comprise a coupling spacer and a coupler comprising an elongated member that abuts the face of the coupling spacer and extends substantially perpendicular thereto. In this embodiment the thickness of the base portion of each of the first drive tube couplings is substantially equal to the thickness of the coupling spacer of each of the second drive tube couplings.

    Abstract: A device for delivering a conveying truck into a screw driving area has a truck delivery screw and a truck propulsion screw which are connected in tandem via a single position electromagnetic clutch and both the screws are configured to rotate in the same phase in the transmission state of the electromagnetic clutch. Two front and back driven rollers are pivotally connected to a conveying truck at an interval at which the driven rollers can engage both screws. A truck delivery mechanism is provided for delivering the conveying truck in the disengaged state of the electromagnetic clutch while rotating the truck delivery screw by the front-side driven roller until the roller arrives at a fixed position in the truck delivery screw.
