摘要: A needle device and method of use are disclosed, wherein the needle moves out of and into a protective housing, between two operative positions, one of which causes the housing to shield the needle. Each operative position includes releasable locking detents to temporarily hold the needle in one of those positions, the holding force of one being less than the other. A third position beyond the one that shields the needle in the housing is used to permanently lock the needle in the housing against accidental reuse. The needle device can be used with a blood collection container or a syringe drug delivery container, each one releasably mating with the device during use.

摘要: A needlestick prevention device (100) for an injection needle carried by a needle-bearing member (101) of a syringe (102) is formed as a one-piece moulding and comprises a first part (103) adapted to be attached to the needle-bearing member (101) and a second part (104) providing a shield for the needle and pivotally movable relative to the first part to expose the needle for use. The device is adapted to adopt a first position in which the needle is protected for transport of the device prior to use, a second position in which the needle is exposed for filling of the syringe and injection, a third position in which the needle is protected after filling of the syringe but before injection and a fourth position in which the needle is locked in the device following injection. In one embodiment the shield (104) has a transport recess (124) and a locking recess (125) connected by a gate device (126), the arrangement being such that in the third position the needle (130) is in the transport recess (124) and is able to move into the second position, and in the fourth position the needle moves through the gate device (126) into the locking recess (125), with the gate device (126) preventing movement out of the fourth position. The device also includes energy-dissipating bumps (155) operative to reduce the energy of the shield (104) as it is returned to the third position and before the gate device contacts the needle (130) in order to prevent splattering of any liquid on the needle (130) out of the device.

摘要: A safety needle device is disclosed having a housing configured to couple to a syringe, the housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a housing body. A first guide path, a second guide path and a third guide path may be disposed on the housing body. A needle hub is disposed on the proximal end of the housing and a needle cannula is attached to the needle hub. The device having a retractable sheath configured to move between an initial position, a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the initial position partially exposes a distal tip of the needle cannula, the retracted position fully exposes the needle cannula, and the extended position fully covers the distal tip of the needle cannula. The retractable sheath also may have a guide element. The first, second and third guide paths are configured to slidingly receive the guide element. The device also having a first locking member, a second locking member, a rotating cam disposed in the housing body, and a spring element to bias the retractable sheath to an extended state to cover the distal end of the needle cannula upon completion of an injection.

摘要: According to the invention a safety device for a pre-filled syringe comprises a substantially cylindrical and hollow support body and a hollow needle shield slideably arranged relative to the support body. The support body comprises at least one resilient arm and the hollow needle shield or a needle shield assembly comprises at least one curved actuation ramp. The curved actuation ramp protrudes in a lateral direction (L) perpendicular to a central axis (A) of the safety device. The curved actuation ramp comprises a first lateral dimension (L1) at a proximal end of the needle shield and a second lateral dimension (L2) exceeding the first lateral dimension (L1) at a distal end of the needle shield. The resilient arm engages the curved actuation ramp when the needle shield is slid relative to the support body.

摘要: A needle safety device has an outer tube within which a syringe barrel from which a cannula extends is slideably receivable. A collar in the outer tube is moveable relative thereto and rotatably attachable to the distal end of the barrel. A force member biases the outer tube in a distal direction. A cannula shield able to receive the cannula therein is in the outer tube. The cannula shield is fixedly attached to a cap removably attached to the outer tube. A track is formed in the inner surface of the outer tube. A pin extending radially outwardly from the collar slidingly engages the track. In a pre-injection position, the cannula is entirely within the outer tube. In a full-insertion position, the cannula extends beyond the outer tube. In a locked position, the cannula is irreversibly retained entirely within the outer tube.

摘要: The invention relates to a safety device for a syringe for avoiding stab wounds, said syringe having a syringe body and a piercing means arranged on the distal end of the syringe body. The safety device comprises a sleeve element that extends along an axial direction (X) and encloses at least partly the piercing means and the syringe body, and a collar element that can be arranged on a distal end region of the syringe body and locks the safety device in the axial direction (X), said collar element having at least one guide projection which engages at least one guide track of the sleeve element. The safety device is further characterized by having a cap element that can be arranged at least in sections on top of the sleeve element and by means of which the sleeve element can be locked with respect to the movement of the syringe body relative to the sleeve element.
