Abstract:
A method of controlling relaxation equipment is a method of controlling relaxation equipment capable of changing a biological value of a user. The method includes: obtaining a user model including a transition in biological value within a period from a start time to an end time of a program being viewed by the user; obtaining a first biological value of the user viewing the program; and controlling the relaxation equipment such that the biological value of the user at the end time approximates a second biological value included in the user model, which is a value at the end time, based on the first biological value and the second biological value.
Abstract:
A pulsation system and method includes a pulsation device that generates pulsation patterns and ancillary therapeutic techniques, such as music, images, and aromatherapy. A communication device operates the pulsation device. The communication device transmits signals to the pulsation device through cable or wireless connectivity. Pulsation patterns and ancillary therapeutic techniques store in communication device data storage portion. The stored pulsation patterns and ancillary therapeutic techniques can be retrieved by the communication device and used repetitively to generate prerecorded pulsation patterns. The pulsation system coordinates the pulsation signals in chronological pattern to provide different rhythms and intensities of pulsations. The pulsation system also coordinates the playback of audio and images into a chronological pattern, forming an audiovisual story. The remote signal includes a remote user's voice.
Abstract:
A Kegel muscle exercising apparatus includes various exercise programs that adaptively change depending on a user's exercise performance. This apparatus includes an insertable device for inserting into the body of a user, computer program code that contains exercise programs that specify operation of a stimulation mechanism by a controller, a stimulation mechanism that directs a user to contract her Kegel muscles according to an exercise program, a sensor that measures Kegel muscle contraction activity, and a controller that receives feedback from the sensor. This feedback comprises the results of an exercise program, and depending on the results, the apparatus can determine a different exercise program appropriate for the user. Following the different exercise programs allows a user to improve her Kegel muscle strength.
Abstract:
Aspects for treating spinal cord injuries are disclosed. In a particular aspect, a method includes identifying a neurological level of a spinal cord injury, and activating neurons via laser therapy in which a laser beam is applied to an area proximate to the neurological level. In another aspect, a computer-readable storage medium includes computer-readable instructions for performing various acts. Such acts comprise ascertaining a neurological level of a spinal cord injury, and receiving data corresponding to a severity of the spinal cord injury. The acts further comprise outputting a laser calibration according to the neurological level and the severity. A medical device apparatus is also provided, which includes various computer executable components. The computer executable components include an assessment component configured to receive parameters corresponding to a spinal cord injury, and a calibration component configured to ascertain a laser calibration according to the at least one parameter.
Abstract:
A motion state of a wearable motion-assist device of a doctor is sent to the wearable motion-assist device of a patient via a network. Then, this motion state is applied to the wearable motion-assist device of the patient, so that rehabilitation is conducted for the patient. Furthermore, the motion state of the wearable motion-assist device of the patient is sent from the wearable motion-assist device to the wearable motion-assist device. Then, the motion state of the wearable motion-assist device is applied to the wearable motion-assist device. Accordingly, the doctor can objectively sense the state of the patient.
Abstract:
A method, device and system for displaying, via a user interface, an ambiance setting for a bathing system. The user interface is configured to display at least one display page on a display screen. The method comprises displaying on the display screen, a plurality of ambiance settings selectable by a user of the user interface, receiving, at a processor, an indication of a selected ambiance setting from the plurality of ambiance settings displayed on the display screen and in response to the selected ambiance setting, displaying on the display screen a first operational setting for at least one first type of bathing unit component and a second operational setting for at least one second type of bathing unit component. The first operational setting and the second operational setting are pre-programmed in association with the selected ambiance setting.
Abstract:
A system includes a sequential compression device (SCD) used by a patient as part of a sequential compression therapy (SCT) protocol. The system also includes a computer device that determines whether the SCD is in use in substantially real time in compliance with the protocol. The computer device initiates a notification to a caregiver if noncompliance with the SCT protocol is detected.
Abstract:
A system includes a communications device integrally incorporated into a remotely deployed medical device to monitor the operative status and use of the device. A home-based medical device will communicate directly through an integrated communications device to provide informational data to a Cloud server or professional caregiver without requiring input or activity by the patient. A remotely deployed medical device, such as a defibrillator, will provide periodic reports regarding the operational status, including remaining battery life, of the deployed device, thus allowing a service technician to provide maintenance service only when service is needed. Although the informational data is preferably send to a Cloud computing and storage site, the communications device can be accessed remotely and directly queried to provide requested informational data thus providing real time access to the status and utilization of the medical device and allowing the professional caregiver access to change operational parameters for the medical device.
Abstract:
A method and device for use in connection with a bathing system that comprises a heating module and a filtration system. The bathing system is adapted to receive power from an energy provider that supplies power in accordance with a power consumption profile. The method comprises receiving an input from a user conveying a desire that at least one of the heating module and the filtration system is operated in accordance with an energy savings mode, and causing the heating module and the filtration system to acquire an actuated state and a non-actuated state on a basis of a usage profile associated with the energy savings mode. The usage profile causes the at least one of the heating module and the filtration system to acquire the actuated state according to a schedule established at least in part on a basis of the power consumption profile.
