Abstract:
An apparatus comprises an architectural system and a patient adjustment device. The patient adjustment device is coupled to the architectural system and adapted to pull on a patient receiver to move a patient received by the patient receiver and located on a bed relative to the bed to adjust the position of the patient.
Abstract:
A modular safety support system having a modular support structure mounted to a fixed surface and a modular support accessory mountable on the modular support structure. The modular support structure may include a vertical support pole, a support post, or a wall mount and the modular support accessory may include one or more of a plurality of structures configured to provide support means to a user. The support pole has upper and lower ends adapted to abut firmly and releasably against opposed ceiling and floor surfaces respectively. The support post includes a base mountable to the floor and a post extending vertically from the base. The pole and the post may both include a bushing mounted along the length of the pole and the post such that an accessory mounting sleeve may be mountable onto the bushing for mounting the modular support accessories thereon. The wall mount includes a first and second rail mountable to a wall and a first and second mounting member mountable to the first and second rail such that modular support accessories may be mounted thereon.
Abstract:
An arrangement in a bed (1) intended for a disabled person and comprising a horizontally rotatable multi-sectional bed base part (3a, 3b) supporting a mattress, the base part being convertible into a seat part (3b) and a backrest part (3a), together with a fixed bed base part (3c). The arrangement furthermore comprises a lifting mechanism 82a) connected to the rotatable bed base parts (3a, 3b) supporting the mattress, the mechanism 82a) being operatively connected to a safety hook (A), that can be connected to a lifting sling, for example, which is worn by the person.
Abstract:
A patient transport and care apparatus includes a skeletal frame structure having a superstructure defining a patient support area which is configured to fit over a conventional patient support platform. One end of the skeletal frame structure is open so that the device may be rolled into and out of surrounding relation with the patient support structure. The device also includes a patient lifting system, a weighing system and an electrical distribution system. Various patient care accessories, equipment and medication may be carried conveniently on the apparatus.
Abstract:
A bed table with a vehicular mounting provides adjustable support for a person in a number of different postures, including a reclined table-like configuration and an erect chair-like configuration. The bed table is segmented into three portions, a head support portion, a medial or central support portion, and a leg support portion. The head support portion and leg support portion are pivotally mounted to a support base and are interconnected with linkage such that the leg support portion follows the rotational displacement of the head support portion. A pneumatic or hydraulic actuator is attached to the head support portion and is controlled through a control panel for automatic operation of the bed table, between the reclined table-like and erect chair-like configurations. An energy source for the actuator is provided by a vessel containing compressed nitrogen. The bed table is provided with a bedpan, swingably mounted into and out of engagement with the central support portion. When mounted against the central support portion, the bedpan is aligned with an aperture extending to the upper surface of the bed table.
Abstract:
A convenience bar assembly for a hospital bed includes a generally U-shaped member including two arms adapted for generally vertical orientation and a horizontal cross-member connecting the arms. The lowermost ends of the arms of the U-shaped member are attached to opposite sides of a bed so that the horizontal member is oriented over the bed transversely. A horizontal support bar is swingably connected to the horizontal cross-member so that the horizontal support bar hangs below the horizontal cross member when the horizontal support bar is at rest.
Abstract:
A clamping device is provided having a stabilizing plate, a retainer shaft cooperating with the stabilizing plate which includes a ratchet end, an elbow and clamp, twisting means for tightening the clamp, and quick release ratchet means to allow an object to be quickly secured between the plate and clamp and movably riding over the ratchet, which clamping device can act cooperatively with a mast to form a bed trapeze securing device.
Abstract:
Hospital bed arranged for independent vertical or tilting adjustment. The bed frame is supported for tilting adjustment on a subframe which latter is movable for vertical adjustment bodily on a base frame. The base frame may be supported on a wall, on the floor or otherwise. A variety of auxiliary devices are supported on the subframe or on the base frame.
