Abstract:
A swift let breeding facility, for use in creating and harvesting edible bird's nests. The facility includes sub-systems for injecting live insect and worm prey, and water, into an aerial enclosure to provide a feeding system imitative of a natural swift let feeding environment.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a container base for holding live poultry, a container segment for holding live poultry that can be stacked onto such a container base, and a container cover as well as to a container assembly for holding live poultry, comprising such a container base and at least one such container segment placed on top of the container base. Furthermore the invention also relates to a method for loading the container assembly according the present invention.
Abstract:
A system and method for the monitoring of ammonia in a fluid. The ammonia monitoring system includes an ammonia sensor that is configured to detect trace amounts of ammonia (NH3) in a fluid (i.e., gas or liquid) that is pumped through it in real time. The real time ammonia sensor includes an interferometer configured to track the amount of ammonia that is pumped into the real time ammonia sensor. The ammonia monitoring system, via the real time ammonia sensor, is further configured to detect ammonia levels in industrial poultry houses and provide electronic feedback to the building's ventilation control system.
Abstract:
An enclosure for a household pet is described that has a top portion and a bottom portion. The enclosure can have a plurality of substantially vertical sides extending between the bottom portion and the top portion to form an enclosure for a household pet. At least a first side and a second side of the plurality of substantially vertical sides can be configured to be disposed adjacent to two sides of a larger enclosure. At least a third side of the plurality of substantially vertical sides configured to be disposed away from the sides of the larger enclosure. The third side can have an aperture to allow access into the enclosure by a household pet. The enclosure can have at least one connecting device configured to attach the enclosure for the household pet to the larger enclosure.
Abstract:
An aviary is provided having a floor and a first aviary cage including a first outside surface enclosing a first inside area. The aviary further comprises a second aviary cage substantially similar to the first aviary cage and including a second outside surface enclosing a second inside area. The second aviary cage is positioned at a height from the floor greater than a height from the floor at which the first aviary cage is positioned. An aisle extends between the first aviary cage and the second aviary cage. A first perch extends from the first outside surface of the first aviary cage and into the aisle at a first vertical distance from the floor. A second perch extends from the second outside surface of the second aviary cage and into the aisle at a second vertical distance from the floor. The first and second vertical distances from the floor are not equal.
Abstract:
Automated methods, apparatuses and computer program products for controlling environmental parameters in a defined environment are disclosed herein. One method disclosed includes the steps of: measuring values of temperature, relative humidity, and wind velocity in the environment, calculating a value of perceived temperature as a function of the measured values, and controlling the environmental parameters based on the calculated value. In certain embodiments, the defined environment comprises a chicken house and the temperature perceived by the chickens in the chicken house is calculated as a function of a characteristic of the chickens such as age or weight.
Abstract:
An edible bird's nests production facility, for use in creating and harvesting edible bird's nests. A plurality of arrangement of swiftlet's nesting substrates configured to maximize efficiency, productivity and high net worth value of the edible nests products created. The facility includes mechanized equipment and apparatus for harvesting swiftlet's edible nests at great heights; carriage of goods and equipment in swiftlets farming houses; safe and efficient collection of nests.
Abstract:
Apparatus and associated methods involve a light module adapted to mount to an open face of a conduit body. In an illustrative example, the light module may include an electrical interface for making operative electrical connection to conductors disposed within the conduit body. In some particular embodiments, the electrical interface may include an insulation displacement-style connector to facilitate installation and/or removal of the light module. In various examples, the conduit body may substantially conform to a form factor of a conduit body for a conventional conduit system.
Abstract:
An animal house curtain comprising a metallized composite sheet can be made from a sheet layer having two outer surfaces, the sheet layer comprising at least one of a nonwoven fabric, woven fabric, nonwoven fabric-film laminate, woven fabric-film laminate, film and composites thereof, and at least one coating on at least one outer surface of the sheet layer, said coating comprising a metal coating layer having a thickness between about 15 nanometers and about 200 nanometers adjacent the outer surface of the sheet layer and wherein the emissivity of the composite sheet is less than about 0.50. Optionally, an organic coating layer of a composition containing a material selected from the group consisting of compounds, polymers, oligomers and combinations thereof, having a thickness between about 0.2 micrometer and about 2.5 micrometers can be deposited on the metal layer.
