摘要: A self-contained welding power supply capable of, upon termination of welding operation, automatically setting a control signal for auxiliary power is provided. The power supply comprises an engine, a generator driven by the engine, and an excitation system that controls power output of the generator. The excitation system includes an output controller and a DC controller. The output controller includes circuitry that generates a field voltage control signal to be sent to the DC controller to regulate DC power going to field windings of the generator. Upon termination of the welding operation, the field voltage control signal is automatically set to a value appropriate for the auxiliary system operation.

摘要: A mounting mechanism for connecting a tractor unit to a guide track, the mounting mechanism includes a fixed block having a first set of rolling devices and a movable plate having a second set of rolling devices. The distance between the first and second sets of rolling devices is adjustable by moving the movable plate to engage or disengage the tractor unit to the guide track. A clamping assembly is provided with a shaft, cam spring, and cam handle for adjusting the distance between the first and second rolling devices. When the cam handle is in an open position, the distance between the rolling devices is greater than the width of the guide track and when the cam handle is in a closed position the distance between the rolling devices is approximately equal to the width of the guide track.

摘要: A system and method for calibrating a welding training apparatus. The system includes reference markers disposed in a 3-D space of a welding environment so as to have a known fixed orientation in the 3-D space of the welding environment. An image capturing device scans the welding environment, which includes a welding coupon or a workpiece. The image capturing device also captures an image of the welding environment. An object recognition device automatically identifies the welding coupon or the workpiece in the captured image and automatically associates a weld path to the identified welding coupon or workpiece. A calibration device automatically calibrates the welding training apparatus by correlating the weld path to the 3-D space of the welding environment based on the reference markers.

At least one electrical characteristic (e.g., inductance, resistance) of a welding output circuit path connected to a welding power source is determined.
