Abstract: Embodiment methods for managing communication between a wireless device and a base station may include a wireless device sending an indication in a random access channel (RACH) message to the base station that the wireless device is capable of millimeter wave (mmWave) digital beamforming. Embodiment methods may include a base station receiving the indication in a random access channel (RACH) message from the wireless device that the wireless device is capable of millimeter wave (mmWave) digital beamforming, generating a first RACH response to the wireless device in response to the indication in the RACH message that the wireless device is capable of mmWave digital beamforming, and multiplexing the first RACH response to the wireless device with a second RACH response transmitted to a second wireless device.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) may include receiving a message requesting estimated channel characteristics of a secondary band based on measuring characteristics of a channel in the primary band. The method also includes measuring characteristics of the channel in the primary band. The method estimates channel characteristics of the secondary band based on the primary band characteristics measurements. The estimating may occur without measuring signals in the secondary band. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit compressed interference information to a network entity. The UE may measure interference at the UE over a set of interference measurement resources. The UE may determine an interference distribution over the set of resources. The UE may encode the interference distribution using a compressions scheme which may reduce a payload or size of the interference distribution. The compression scheme may include compressing the distribution of the interference. Encoding the interference information may include generating a mean vector and a covariance matrix representative of the distribution of the interference measured over the given set of interference measurement resources. The UE may transmit the encoded interference information, and the network entity may decode the encoded interference information. The network entity may schedule communications with the UE based on the interference information.
