Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for transitioning between different realities. The distance of the objects from a reference point in the first and second reality environments is determined. For example, the distance of the object's location in the first reality environment from a reference point (e.g., camera system) as well as the distance of the object's location in the second reality environment from the reference point is determined. A determination is made as to whether the likelihood of a transition shock event (e.g., motion sickness) occurring as a user transitions between the first and second reality environments exceeds a threshold value. In response to the likelihood of the transition shock event occurring exceeding the threshold value, the distance of the object from the reference point in the first and/or second reality environments is modified so as to prevent users from experiencing transition shocks when transitioning between realities.

Abstract: Approaches presented herein enable resuming a context for a group of electronic devices based on a prior activity of the group members. Specifically, a current context of a user electronic device is collected at a conclusion of a first collaboration session. One or more participant electronic devices associated with the user electronic device are identified, either by being in a same location or virtually connected. A current context of each of the identified participant electronic devices is collected. The context of the user electronic device and each of the participant electronic devices are stored in a context database. The current context of the user electronic device and each of the participant electronic devices are resumed at a beginning of a second collaboration session when the user electronic device is resumed (e.g., powered on or brought out of “sleep” mode).

Abstract: A computing system performs file conversion upon format expiration. A computing system evaluates a risk of expiration of a first format associated with a first format object. The computing system determines if the risk of expiration is above a threshold. The computing system identifies in response to determining the risk of expiration is above the threshold, one or more files stored in the first format for conversion. The computing system converts one or more files stored in the first format to a second format. The computing system saves the one or more files in the second format.

Abstract: An object of interest in an augmented reality view within a display of an augmented reality device is identified. A location of the object of interest is determined. A plurality of markers related to the object of interest is received. Metadata information associated with each of the plurality of markers is received. The metadata includes an indication of a location of an author of the marker at a time of authorship of the marker. The location of each of the plurality of markers is determined based upon the metadata information. A distance measure between the location of each of the plurality of markers and the location of the object of interest is determined. The plurality of markers are de-duplicated to form a subset of the plurality of markers based upon the determined distance measures. The subset of markers are sent to the augmented reality device.

Abstract: Providing supplemental authentication of a user based on hand gesture activity of a user with an application of a device after a user has completed a successful authentication challenge to initially access the device. Hand gesture activity of the user with the device is recorded during current use of an application of the device. The recorded hand gesture activity during current use of an application of the device is compared to previous recorded hand gesture activity during use of the same application of the device by an authorized user to provide a supplemental authentication of the user. When the recorded hand gesture activity does not match the previously recorded hand gesture activity during use of the same application, the use of the application on the device is halted and an additional authentication challenge requiring input from the user is presented to the user.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for ensuring a desired distribution of images in a multimedia document (e.g., yearbook, slideshow). A desired distribution of facial signatures in a multimedia document to be created by the user is received. Upon receiving an image to be added to the multimedia document by the user, a facial signature for a face detected in the image is generated. The current number of instances of the facial signature in the multimedia document is then determined. A determination is then made as to whether the current number of instances of the facial signature meets the desired distribution. An indication is then provided to the user as to whether the current number of instances of the facial signature meets or does not meet the desired distribution. In this manner, the user can ensure a desired distribution of images in the multimedia document.
