Abstract: Systems and methods of using a frame structure by a NB-IoT UE are described, The UE receives an anchor segment on an anchor channel and a data segment on a data channel both in an unlicensed spectrum. If a 3N1 frame structure is used: a NPSS, NSSS and NPBCH are in a highest index anchor carrier of contiguous anchor carriers and SIB in a lowest index anchor carrier, and if a 3N2 frame structure is used a single narrowband carrier comprising the NPSS, NSSS, NPBCH and SIB. The data channel is a FHSS single carrier other than the anchor carriers if the 3N1 frame structure is used and the single narrowband carrier if the 3N2 frame structure is used. A NPDCCH or NPDSCH is received on a middle index anchor carrier or in the data segment. The NPSS overrides a TDD configuration indicated by the eNB.

Abstract: Systems and methods of enabling sub-PRB allocation for an efeMTC UE are described. The efeMTC UE transmits to an eNB or gNB support for a sub-PRB PUSCH transmission in a capability information element of a RRC message. The RRC message is transmitted after transmission of message 3 of the RACH procedure. The efeMTC UE receives semi-statistical dedicated RRC signaling that contains a sub-PRB configuration that is dependent on a sub-PRB maximum PUSCH channel bandwidth, a CE mode, a RL configured for the PUSCH and a TDD configuration and a sub-PRB PUSCH transmission allocation. The efeMTC UE transmits a sub-PRB PUSCH transmission on the sub-PRB PUSCH transmission allocation.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods are disclosed for frame based equipment (FBE) framework for new radio (NR) systems operating on the unlicensed spectrum. A processor for a base station performs a first clear channel assessment (CCA) using Category-1 (CAT-1) or CAT-2 listen-before-talk (LBT) on an unlicensed spectrum. The processor transmits first downlink (DL) data to one or more user equipments (UEs) within a fixed frame period (FFP) in accordance with a frame based equipment (FBE) framework for new radio (NR) on the unlicensed spectrum. The base station operates as an initiating device and the one or more UEs operate as responding devices. The processor performs a second CCA responsive to a gap of X orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols between a DL burst and an uplink (UL) burst being greater than a threshold gap. The processor transmits second DL data within the FFP responsive to performing the second CCA.

The UE can decode the G-DCI received from the gNB in a MulteFire system. The UE can identify grant less uplink DCI components included in the G-DCI. The UE can perform a grant less uplink transmission with the gNB based on the grant less uplink DCI components in the G-DCI received from the gNB.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for a wireless communication system in an unlicensed spectrum. A user equipment (UE) device of the wireless communication system includes a processor circuitry and radio front end circuitry. The processor circuitry is configured to acquire a channel occupancy time (COT) in the unlicensed spectrum, and determine a number of remaining consecutive subframes allocated for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission to a base station. The processor circuitry is configured to generate uplink control information (UCI) to indicate a COT sharing boundary occurring at an end of the remaining consecutive subframes. The radio front end circuitry is coupled to the processor circuitry and configured to transmit the UCI in the PUSCH) transmission during one of the remaining consecutive subframes. The processor circuitry is also configured to monitor downlink transmissions from the base station following the COT sharing boundary.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for a UE and its serving base station in 5G NR systems to signal channel scan or channel sensing to allow channel occupancy time (COT) sharing before transmissions. The COT sharing may be initiated by the base station or by the UE by asserting a CCA indication to enable channel sensing by a UE or base station, respectively. When the UE receives and decodes the asserted CCA indication during downlink transmission, the UE may perform channel sensing during a short interframe space (SIFS) between the downlink transmission and a scheduled uplink transmission. When the UE detects that the sensed RF energy across an intended transmission band is greater than an energy detect threshold, the UE may refrain from transmitting during the scheduled uplink transmission. Otherwise or when the CCA indication is de-asserted, the UE may transmit during the scheduled uplink transmission without performing channel sensing.
