Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To support a reliable array response for wideband communications, a base station may configure a set of transmission instances for a set of signals distributed across a wideband carrier bandwidth. At least one transmission instance of the set of transmission instances may be configured in each sub-band of the carrier bandwidth. The base station may transmit the set of signals in the configured transmission instances to a user equipment (UE). The UE may receive the set of signals distributed across the carrier bandwidth and may measure, for the signals, a set of signal measurements corresponding to the set of sub-bands. Based on the signal measurements, the UE may determine a set of communication beams for the set of sub-bands. Using one or more of the determined communication beams, the UE may communicate with the base station in the carrier bandwidth.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may allocate resources for communication with a user equipment (UE). The resources may include one or more subframes, and each subframe may include one or more shortened transmission time intervals (sTTIs). Each sTTI may be assigned a transmission direction according to a time division duplex (TDD) pattern. Based on traffic needs and/or interference from other UEs and/or base stations, the base station may determine to modify the TDD pattern used for communication. Accordingly, a base station may transmit an indicator in a control message or control region of a TTI or sTTI, to indicate to users that a transmission direction of an sTTI in the TDD pattern is being changed. Subsequently, a user may communicate with the base station according to the reconfigured TDD pattern.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A bandwidth part (BWP) configuration may be identified for a user equipment (UE), where the BWP configuration is part of a shared radio frequency spectrum band. In some cases, a base station may transmit a resource configuration for the BWP to the UE that indicates a set of subbands for the BWP and an indication of which subbands are available for the resource contention and possible subsequent communications. The UE and base station may determine a set of time-frequency resources for at least one downlink signal to be transmitted from the base station to the UE based on the BWP and available subbands. In some cases, the resource configurations for the BWP may include a reference signal configuration, a semi-persistent scheduling configuration, a control resource set configuration, or a combination thereof for the available subbands of the BWP.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may rate match an uplink transmission around a set of resources reserved by a base station. The base station may indicate a set of reserved resources which overlaps an uplink resource allocation to the UE. The base station may transmit an indicator of the reserved resources, and the UE may identify a location of a clear channel assessment (CCA) gap in a symbol period relative to the reserved resources. By rate matching around the reserved resources and one or more CCA gaps, the UE may transmit uplink information despite the allocated uplink resources colliding with the reserved resources.

Abstract: Symbol alignment and power scaling are provided for different length transmission time intervals (TTIs) within predefined boundaries, such as boundaries of a slot of a subframe. Described techniques provide for identifying time and/or frequency resources for one or more TTIs and allocating such resources based on a location within a subframe, pilot signals that may be transmitted using the resources, other processing timelines, or any combination thereof. In some cases, a power allocation for symbols within a TTI may be determined based on the allocated resources for the TTI. Frequency hopping patterns and power scaling for three-symbol TTIs are also provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station and user equipment (UE) may implement techniques to integrate remaining minimum system information (RMSI) and synchronization signal block (SSB) delivery in a shared radio frequency spectrum band. For example, the base station may transmit SSBs and corresponding RMSI transmissions in a same transmission opportunity (TxOP) and configure resource allocations to reduce or eliminate transmission gaps. For example, the SSBs and the corresponding RMSI transmissions may be transmitted after a single, successful listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure. For each SSB, the associated RMSI control resources and RMSI shared channel resources may be nearby or continuous in time such that the SSB, control resource set, and the RMSI downlink shared channel signal are transmitted as a package.

Abstract: Uplink signaling in unlicensed or shared spectrum may be subject to listen before talk procedures resulting in failed signaling transmissions. A user equipment (UE) may perform uplink signaling using a configuration based on whether a base station has entered a channel occupancy time (COT) shared with the UE. A UE may determine that the UE has an uplink transmission for a base station. A UE may determine whether the base station has entered a channel occupancy time that is shared with the UE. A UE may determine configured random access or scheduling request transmission resources based on the channel occupancy time, wherein a density of transmission opportunities is greater outside of the shared channel occupancy time than within the shared channel occupancy time. A UE may transmit a random access message or the scheduling request on selected configured resources.
