摘要： A seal for use in a cylindrical groove in a cylindrical item positioned in a cylinder such as a rotary valve where the seal is subjected to reciprocating forces as the item and the cylinder rotate with respect to each other. The seal has two adjacent pairs of outer sealing rings with each pair being backed up by a pair of backup rings which are positioned to bear outwardly on the sealing rings. A spring is positioned to push the pairs of sealing rings and the associated backup rings to the opposite sides of the groove to form the side seals and hydraulic pressure is provided underneath the rings to urge them outwardly to form the outward seal.

摘要： Shoes for operatively connecting a swash-plate with the compression pistons of a swash-plate type compressor are made from a novel Cu-based alloy. Improved shoes are characterized by a combination of high heat conductivity and excellent wear resistance properties particularly when subjected to a lubricating condition so severe that no lubricating oil is supplied to the surface of the shoes at the initial period of the compressor operation. Phosphorus and elements of C group (Pb and/or Sn), as well as elements of A group (Mn and Si) and/or B group (the IVb and VIb groups of the periodic table), are added in predetermined amounts to the Cu-based alloy, so that the properties mentioned above are simultaneously obtained. The compressor according to the present invention can be reliably employed, without the occurrence of seizure over a long operational period for air-conditioning vehicles, in which the sliding condition of the shoes is drastically varied with the rotation of the engine.

摘要： A controlled, variable displacement swash plate compressor is provided with means for controlling the capacity pivoting the swash plate about the drive shaft axis to vary the effective pumping capacity. The position of the swash plate with respect to the drive shaft axis is a function of the pressure maintained inside the crankcase, said position being a result of the various forces acting on the pistons, including the underside of the pistons where crankcase pressure is applied. A cam surface is provided to maintain a fixed top dead center position at all displacements, as well as an improved universal joint mechanism to anchor the swash plate against rotation.

摘要： An improved drive lug and shaft through bore structure for use with a wobble plate compressor, the output of which is modulated in response to refrigeration requirements by varying the piston displacement to match the cooling requirement. The drive lug has a cylindrical body formed with a radially outer flat-sided wobble plate connection portion and a radially inner shank of reduced diameter separated by a radiused neck transition portion. A flared opening in the shaft bore receives the neck portion while means on its free end of the shank portion cooperate with the shaft securing the lug in the shaft bore so as to establish a clearance fit between the lug shank and the bore providing extended fatigue life together with ease of manufacture and assembly.

摘要： A multi-plunger reciprocating pump comprising a generally horizontally extending crankshaft and a plurality of generally horizontally extending cylinders alternately disposed at least generally above and below the centerline of the crankshaft. An oil pan is detachably mounted in the crankshaft housing below the crankshaft, whereby the oil pan is readily removable to facilitate axial removal of the crankshaft; and the crossheads connecting the crankshaft driven connecting rods to the piston rods are slidably mounted by bearing shoes adapted to be rotated 90.degree. for facilitating access thereto. Also, the suction and discharge valves for the cylinders are readily accessible without disconnection of any of the piping or manifolds of the pump.

摘要： A piston type hydraulic pump characterized by a relief clutch apparatus which functions to detect the occurrence of contaminates in the pumping oil and to automatically protect the internal working components of the pumping mechanism from damage by such contaminates. More specifically, the relief clutch is arranged to automatically and substantially instantly relieve the pumping pistons from the forces of the piston driving cam upon the occurrence of any abnormal forces imposed on any one of the pistons by binding action of the contaminates. Hence actuation of the pistons is automatically stopped prior to the occurrence of irreparable damage to the machine.

摘要： An axial piston pump having flapper valves on the inlet ports and a continuous flexible ring member providing valving for the outlet ports. The ring member has an elastic sealing surface adjacent to the outlet ports to prevent reverse flow from the pump outlet to the cylinder bores. The ring member is deflected away from the outlet ports when the cylinder bores are pressurized. The deflection of the ring member varies with the amount of fluid flow from the cylinder. Since the amount of fluid flow from a single cylinder in this type of pump is sinusoidal, the outer edge deflection of the ring member is in the form of a sine wave. The ring member also seals the outlet ports to prevent back-flow through the pump when the input shaft is not being driven.
