摘要: The energizer of the instant invention includes an electric discharge apparatus for creating an electric discharge and a focusing mechanism for focusing the electric discharge on a fluid to be energized. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the focusing mechanism takes the form of a dielectric core which is constructed and arranged to focus the electric discharge into a passage formed about the periphery of the core thereby enabling the use of energy levels substantially higher than would be possible without the focusing means.A method of energizing a fluid is taught which includes introducing the fluid into a confined region, providing an electric discharge for energizing the fluid and focusing the discharge into the confined region.

摘要: An ultraviolet ozone generating device has a tubular enclosure with a light tunnel or box situated within the enclosure and containing a cold cathode UV lamp. An input duct and an output duct, each comprised of a 90 degree ell tube, prevent direct line of sight escape of the UV radiation from the device but do not restrict the air flow through the light tunnel. In order to control the output level, the lamp is powered to pulse on and off, and the duty cycle of the lamp power is controlled through a control knob which can be adjusted as desired. The enclosure is constructed so that any condensation forms and drips to the outside.

摘要: A device and process for the generation of ozone using an ozone generator having two electrodes connected across the secondary winding of a high voltage transformer, the primary winding of which is connected to a converter which supplies thereto a square wave current of variable amplitude and variable frequency. A compensation coil is connected across either the primary winding or the secondary winding of the transformer. The ozone generator includes a solid dielectric and a gas path between its two electrodes. The inductance of the compensating choke and the operating frequency of the converter are selected such that the resonance frequency of the resonant circuit formed by the ozone generator and the compensation choke lies below the operating frequency of the converter current supply in any operating condition. In this way the degree of utilization of medium voltage converters of converter-fed ozone generators is significantly increased by connecting a compensation choke (6) in parallel to the ozone generator (5) and by dimensioning it suitably.

摘要: In modern ozone generators, high power densities are achievable when dielectrics (3) based on ceramics or filled plastic dielectrics and corresponding gap widths and dual cooling are used. With respect to efficiency, such ozone generators are inferior to those with a glass dielectric. To improve the efficiency and the resistance to the discharge attack, it is proposed to glaze the titanium oxide ceramic on the surface and to coat the plastic dielectrics with a high-temperature ceramic adhesive based on SiO.sub.2.

摘要: A static diffuser for use within the water tank of an ozonator system. The diffuser comprises a depending water pipe into which water is fed under pressure by an external pump. The lower end of the pipe flares outward and has an internal fixed cone which combines with the flared end of the pipe to provide an annular laterally directed water discharge. The annular discharge includes angularly directed vanes to enhance the water discharge and assist in forming a high velocity outwardly directed circular sheet of water. The pipe is surrounded, in spaced relation, by a shroud through which the ozone is introduced. The shroud is provided with an annular slot outward of the pipe discharge, the shape of the shroud at the slot forming a modified 360.degree. circular venturi whereby the discharging high velocity sheet of water creates a negative pressure drawing the ozone therewith into the surrounding body of water for a ozonation thereof.

摘要: A cell or apparatus for treating a fluid by electron emission as the fluid is passed through a space between a dielectric layer located on a surface of a first electrode and a second electrode and as the electrodes are operated by an attached, appropriate circuit to cause electron emission within the space can be constructed so as to improve the efficiency of the cell or apparatus and so as to promote the amount of time which the dielectric layer may be used without breakdown. In constructing a cell or apparatus for this purpose cooling jackets are provided for circulating cooling fluids in contact with the surfaces of these electrodes remote from one another. In accordance with the disclosure the pressures of the fluids used in the cooling jackets and the fluid passing through the space of the apparatus or cell are regulated so as to maintain the electrical characteristics of the cell or apparatus substantially constant. This improves the efficiency of the circuit used to power the cell. In achieving such regulation the pressures are also preferably regulated so that there is substantially no deflection or movement of the dielectric layer. This minimizes the chances of such dielectric layer breaking down.

摘要: An ozone generating apparatus which comprises a plurality of chambers filled with an adsorbent, wherein a wet raw air is fed through one of the chambers filled with the adsorbent to adsorb moisture to form a dry air and the dry air is fed into an ozonizer to convert it into a dry ozone-containing air, and all or part of the dry ozone-containing air is fed into the other chamber filled with the adsorbent to purge water adsorbed on the adsorbent and to discharge it as a wet ozone containing air. The valves are then switched to feed the wet air to the other chamber filled with the adsorbent, whereby the moisture is adsorbed and the dry ozone-containing air fed from the ozonizer is fed into the former chamber filled with the adsorbent to reactivate the adsorbent and to discharge it as the wet ozone-containing air. The cycle is continuously repeated by switching valves.
