    摘要: A magnetic matrix for magnetic separation of particles in a material feed includes a plurality of grooved plates having first and second sides that both have an alternating series of teeth and grooves therealong, each grooved plate having an offset alignment in which teeth and grooves on a first side of a plate are laterally offset from teeth and grooves on a second side of the same plate. Also provided are methods of using magnetic matrices to separate magnetic ores, with the methods characterized by a negative correlation in which magnetic matrices constructed with grooved plates having larger pitches are used for the separation of ultrafine particles.

    摘要: A device for separating components of a mixture, particularly industrial fluids but also gases including air, allows for targeted components of the mixture to be attached onto a separating bar and removed from the mixture. The separating bars traverse a track formed within the body of the separating device and through respective tank, cleaning, free roll, and compression regions in a controlled cleaning system. The separating bars are detached from one another and allowed to move through the separating device independently of one another. The device removes the use of chains to connect cleaning bars traversing through a cleaning system.

    摘要: An assembly that utilizes reusable sheaths for covering magnetic rods for collecting particles in an inverse magnetic particle process. The magnetic rod is removed from the reusable sheath to release particles at the same or a different location. The reusable sheaths can be assembled in a cylindrical plate, which can be rotated to position a clean sheath for each step of the inverse magnetic particle process. When not being used for particle separation, the sheaths can be washed of potentially contaminating solution in wash receptacles.

    摘要: There are provided devices, systems and processes to treat slurries that include magnetic and nonmagnetic particles suspended in water in such a fashion as to separate certain valuable elements and/or minerals from less valuable minerals or elements. A high intensity magnetic separator includes at least one large rotatable turntable that defines at least one circular channel therethrough in which a matrix material is positioned. The turntable is configured to rotate in a generally horizontal plane about a generally vertical virtual axis, causing the at least one circular channel to rotate through a plurality of intermittent magnetic and nonmagnetic zones generated by a plurality of permanent magnet members. A treatment slurry is directed into the channel or channels in one or more of the magnetic zones as the turntable rotates. A tailings fraction passes through the channel or channels in a generally downward direction in the magnetic zones and is collected in tailings launders. Magnetic particles are attracted to the matrix material in the magnetic zones and remain in the channel until it passes into an adjacent nonmagnetic zone, where the magnetic particles are washed form the channel into concentrate launders.
