Abstract: Technologies are generally described for concurrent activation of multiple illumination sources to analyze a sample. A controller may be configured to activate the illumination sources substantially simultaneously, where a current or voltage of each activated illumination source is modulated at a different frequency by respective circuit drivers of the controller. Each activated illumination source may be configured to illuminate the sample with light at a different emission wavelength, and one or more detectors may be configured to detect a composite signal from the sample in response to the illumination. The composite signal may include multiple returned signals, where each returned signal corresponds to light emitted from one of the activated illumination sources at a respective emission wavelength. One or more filters, each associated with a respective modulation frequency of one activated illumination source, may be configured to extract each returned signal from the composite signal for analysis.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a spectrometer arrangement including an entrance-slit group including a slit wheel and a slit mask for introducing radiation into and for limiting the optical field of the spectrometer arrangement, a first dispersive element for spectrally decomposing the radiation in a main dispersion direction, and a second dispersive element for spectrally decomposing the radiation in a transverse dispersion direction that forms an angle with the main dispersion direction to yield a two-dimensional spectrum. The slit wheel is mounted rotatably about an axis of rotation and has a falcate opening having a width that changes depending on the angle. The slit mask includes an opening that is longer than a largest width of the falcate opening such that radiation radiates through the falcate opening of the slit wheel and the opening of the slit mask. The present disclosure further includes a corresponding method and an optical component group.

The (IHSFC), rather than using narrow band lasers to excite or interrogate the analytes, the flow stream is excited by a wide wavelength range beam. The raw data generated by the (IHSFC) are as follows; forward light scatter, right angle light scatter, coherent spectral data and non-coherent spectral data. The intrinsic fluorescent spectral components are extracted from the coherent and non-coherent spectral data.
