摘要： A pipe coupling comprises a first pipe-encircling member having an outwardly extending peripheral flange, a sealing ring disposed within the first member to provide a seal between the member and a pipe, a second pipe-encircling member having an outwardly extending peripheral flange, a pipe-gripping collar within the second member having an external frusto-conical surface so arranged that, upon axial movement of the second member towards the first member, the collar is contracted radially to grip the pipe, and a number of axially extending clamping bolts passing through registering holes in the outwardly extending flanges, so that by tightening the clamping bolts the second member is moved axially towards the first member, causing the collar to grip the pipe, without relative rotation between the members.

摘要： A grip-seal apparatus for connecting together flowline end portions including first and second housings having alignable bores therethrough and an intermediate housing connection section for connection to each of the first and second housings and also having a bore for receiving a first flowline end portion. A radially contractable actuator sleeve is mounted within the bore of the first housing for movement radially inwardly into gripping engagement with the first flowline end portion in response to camming action; and, a sealing assembly is mounted in the bore of the second housing for movement radially inwardly into sealing engagement with the first flowline end portion in response to longitudinal movement of an activating sleeve which is mounted within the second housing bore in engagement with the sealing assembly. The second housing is connectable to various types of flanges for connection to another grip-seal apparatus attached to a second flowline end portion or for connection directly to the second flowline end portion whereby fluid flow between the first and second flowlines is established.

摘要： A pipe coupling which is mountable on the external surface of a pipe to which the connection is made. The coupling includes annular grip means mounted in the coupling and having an outer axially tapered cam surface and an inward gripping surface for gripping the external surface of the pipe to be joined. An annular bowl member is mounted radially outwardly adjacent to the grip members and is arranged for relative movement therewith and is provided with a tapered surface for engaging and camming the grip means radially inwardly. Annular seal means are provided in the coupling adjacent to the bowl means and an axially movable thrust member is mounted axially adjacent the seal means whereby the application of axial force to the thrust member actuates the seal means and the gripping means. The means for applying the axial force are preferably means operable from a position exterior of the coupling.

For rendering the coupling components electrically conductive as where required for cathodic protection in a buried underground installation, conductive elements extending through and about the gasket effect electrical continuity between the follower, middle ring and contained pipe. At the same time, selectively located protuberances on each bolt are bared and reliably penetrate the coating on one follower while the bolt nut on makeup penetrates the bolt thread coating and the opposite follower to respectively insure their conductive continuity in the assembly.

摘要： A sealed, vibration resistant, non-separating joint construction connects the plug end of one pipe to the socket end of another pipe. A split lock ring, recessed in an internal groove in the the plug end before insertion of the plug into the socket, is then contracted and extended from the groove into engagement with the outer surface of the plug by set screws on the socket spaced circumferentially around the groove. The contracted lock ring centers the plug in the socket and axially overlaps a radially projecting shoulder or step surface on the plug to prevent axial separation. A sealing member is pressed axially into the annular space between the inner surface of the socket, the outer surface of the plug, and the outer lateral surface of a back-up ring covering the outer lateral surface of the lock ring.

摘要： A pipe coupling is disclosed which utilizes a deformable outer sleeve or pipe which is adapted to be stretched about an inner pipe. The outer sleeve or pipe is formed with a portion of circular or roundish cross-section and a portion defining an inwardly opening, axially extending channel. The inner pipe includes a portion of circular or roundish cross-section and a portion, either integral with or separate from the wall of the inner pipe, which defines an axially extending spline. The inner pipe, including the spline, fits loosely inside the outer pipe with the spline in the channel. Fastener means extending through the wall of the channel draws the wall of the channel into engagement with the spline and stretches the outer pipe around the inner pipe to provide a strong mechanical joint and a fluid tight connection.

An annular transverse flange defines an inner transverse end face of the rabbet and has an opening for centering the male end.
