摘要: The invention provides a bituminous composition, a process for preparing a bituminous paving composition and process for bituminous paving having lower mixing, paving, and compaction temperatures than for conventional hot-mix paving while retaining sufficient performance characteristics of conventional hot-mix paving. The inventive paving process comprises the steps of injecting a foamable solution comprising a lubricating substance into a heated, asphalt binder to provide a heated, foamed mixture; adding the heated, foamed mixture to a suitable, heated aggregate; further mixing the heated, foamed mixture and heated aggregate to coat the heated aggregate with the heated, foamed, asphalt binder to form a heated paving material; supplying the heated paving material to a paving machine; applying the heated paving material by the paving machine to a surface to be paved; and compacting the applied paving material to form a paved surface.

摘要: A powered roller screed with a curb attachment is disclosed. The powered roller screed may include a screed roller that is offset (e.g., vertically) from one or more curb rollers used by the curb attachment. In one embodiment, the amount of offset between the screed roller and each such curb roller is adjustable. Generally, each curb roller used by the curb attachment may engage and roller along an upper wall of a curb as screeding operations are conducted on poured concrete alongside the curb.

摘要: A compaction system, including a first and second array of compaction elements supported by an underside of a motorized vehicle adapted to traverse a degraded surface. A sensor assembly is supported by the motorized vehicle, disposed intermediate the first and second array of compaction elements, and in electrical communication with a controller. The sensor assembly also being adapted to sense a characteristic of an at least partially compacted surface formed after the first array of compacting elements applies a first compaction pressure to the degraded surface. The controller being in electrical communication with the second array of compaction elements and has an input field for a second compaction pressure. The sensor assembly is adapted to input the second compaction pressure into the field and the controller is adapted to adjust the second array of compaction elements to apply the second compaction pressure to the at least partially compacted surface.

摘要: Disclosed are various embodiments, aspects and features a multifunction, intelligent telescoping boom system. The system may comprise a hydraulic circuit with a continuous, circulating flow through a circuit that includes a hydraulic pump and a configurable valve bank. Valves in the valve bank may be designated to given components of any of a multitude of implement attachments. In this way, the continuous flow of hydraulic fluid through the valve bank may be distributed, via the valves, to the hydraulic components of implements. Hydraulic flow in excess of the demand created by the hydraulic components moves on through the valve bank and returns to the pump to continue the circulation. Also returning to the pump from the valve bank is any hydraulic fluid returning to the valve bank from the hydraulic components. Advantageously, because the system provides a continuous circulation of pressurized hydraulic fluid through the bank, implements with a mix of linear and rotating hydraulic components may be simultaneously powered from the same source of pressurized flow.

摘要: A bridge paving machine and method for paving a 3D design without vertical profile rails includes converting a desired design into a 3D surface model to account for certain factors known to cause deviations in the paving processes and paving the 3D surface model in the expectation that factors will cause the 3D surface model to deflect into the desired design. An on-board computer system adjusts the 3D surface model in real-time to correct for on-site variables. The on-board computer system receives data from various external sensors, including deflection sensors fixed to girders in the bride structure, and paving machine-based sensors, and uses various predictive models to predict surface deflection based on the sensor data. The 3D surface model is continuously updated based on the predictive models and actual measured deflections.

摘要: An apparatus and method for finishing or texturing a paved surface including one or more transition curves includes a finishing machine with a transverse frame including a series of flexibly connected frame members and one or more power transition adjusters. As the finishing machine proceeds through the transition curve, the control system and sensors of the finishing machine determine its position and the transverse curvature of the paved surface corresponding to its position. The control system may then adjust the position of accessories mounted to the transverse frame via a combination of raising or lowering the accessories relative to the paved surface and articulating the one or more power transition adjusters to adjust the shape of the transverse frame to conform to the transverse curvature of the paved surface.
