    Abstract: A stamp is provided, preferably of the permanent ink pad type, for stamping ink or the like through a stencil, onto a surface to which selected indicia or the like is to be stamped. The stencils are removable and replaceable, and are releasably carried by the stamp, preferably by means of a band, and the stamp is provided with standoffs, that allow for accurate placement of a stamp on a surface that is desired, for proper orientation and location of the indicia that is to be stamped, prior to making ink contact with the surface. The standoffs are resiliently compressible. A kit comprising a stencil and a stamp is provided, as is a package comprising a container, a stamp, and preferably one or more stencils. The ink pad is preferably constructed of a micro reticulated plastic resin, with a higher density ink-metering portion at the stamping surface, and a lower density high-ink-retention, porous portion thereabove, for facilitating essentially permanent retention of ink therein for the life of the stamp.

    Abstract: An inner frame having upper and lower portions carries an inkable pad in the lower portion thereof. The pad projects below the inner frame for contact with a surface to be stamped. An integral retaining ridge is located on the outer surface of the inner frame between the upper and lower portions. An outer frame is detachably connected to the inner frame and a hollow sleeve member is interposed between the inner and outer frames. The sleeve member has an upper flange which is located above the integral retaining ridge. A plurality of C-shaped resilient fingers integrally molded with the inner frame, outer frame or the sleeve member is located between the upper flange of the sleeve and the inner and outer frames. The lower edge of the sleeve member extends below the level of the inkable pad when the spring member is in the relaxed position. Downward pressure on the outer frame is transmitted by the detachable connection to the inner frame. The result is that the inkable pad contacts a surface to be stamped and the sleeve member telescopes into the inner and outer frames, compressing the C-shaped resilient fingers. Each end of the resilient fingers has a projection with a tapered upper surface and an engaging lower surface facilitating assembly of the structure wherein the sleeve member is slipped over the inner frame so that the flange is located between the projection and the retaining ridge.

    Abstract: A marking device comprises a base affixable to a frame of a continuous processing machine, said base having paired guides thereon and slide blocks slidable on said guides and means including an air operated solenoid valved plunger carried by the guides, and self-contained self-inked printing head mounted on the end of the plunger to print on products passing through the processing machine. The position of the slides and the printing head is adjustable so that the contact pressure of the printing head against the article to be imprinted may be adjusted to provide proper printing contact between the printing head and the object to be printed.

    Abstract: Provided is a stamp unit comprises a case that accommodates an ink occluding member and a frame on which an impression member formed of a porous film is tightly stretched, and a leaf spring is provided between the case and the frame. By an elastic repulsive force of the leaf spring, the impression member and the ink occluding member are constantly separated from each other, and the ink is not allowed to penetrate the impression member during distribution. In this way, even when an unexpected external force is applied to an unprocessed stamp unit, the impression member and the ink occluding member do not come into contact with each other, and penetration of ink into the impression member is prevented from starting.
