摘要： A baseball or softball bat which enables a ball to fly farther than a conventional bat. The bat is made of metal, wood or carbon fiber-reinforced plastic and its cylindrical ball-hitting part has an axial cross section shape as follows: a lot of concave-surfaced grooves and convex-surfaced ridges are arranged in parallel alternately along the circumference of the bat and the convex parts are round and curved outward. The concave and convex parts are covered by a cylindrical sheet of polyurethane elastomer or similar material. Also, a metal baseball or softball bat is manufactured by grooving the cylindrical ball-hitting part surface by a lathe using a roller.

In an embodiment, first and second indentations are in a surface of the shaft between the handle and contact ends to designate where a user should hold the bat while bunting. In an embodiment, at least one indicator selected from the group consisting of an indentation, a marking, and a bump is between the handle and contact ends to designate where and how a user should hold the bat while bunting.

摘要： A training and practice bat is formed to include a hollow core region extending through both the handle and the barrel. An aperture is formed in the bat that allows for a fluidic material (water, sand, etc.) to be poured into the bat and thus modify the weight and “feel” of the bat as it is swung. A removable plug is engaged with the aperture to retain the fluidic material within the hollow core region. The movement of the bat during the swing causes the fluidic material to shift from the handle to the barrel, accelerating the movement of the bat during the swing and improving the hitter's performance.

The baseball or softball bat includes a tip portion, a ball-hitting portion, a tapered portion and a grip portion. A depression in the ball-hitting portion is integrally coated with the elastic body having a high rebound property value as a physical property. Thus, when hitting the ball, the elastic body will be compressed and deform, and energy loss due to the ball deformation will be suppressed. Moreover, the ball is carried additionally with a restoring force of the elastic body. Consequently, the bat has rebound property superior to a conventional one, and can carry the ball farther.

Thus, the bat structure can provide a shock-absorbing effect to prevent the bat structure from being broken due to a larger shock, thereby increasing the lifetime of the bat structure. In addition, the batter can feel more comfortable when the bat structure hits the ball.
