摘要： The front wheel assembly of a wheel chair is dimensioned so that it will easily pass through the space between the seat of an automobile and the doorframe thereof. The rear wheel assembly is retractable upwardly under the seat portion to a position which permits the seat portion and the retracted rear wheel assembly to be set upon the automobile seat. The wheel chair and the person seated therein may be easily placed on the automobile seat and removed therefrom while the person remains seated in the wheel chair.

摘要： A safety belt system for paratransit lifts uses a front lift strap and a rear lift strap. The front lift strap and the rear lift strap are safety belts that can be connected in front of and behind a wheelchair that is mounted onto a lift platform of a paratransit lift. The front lift strap and the rear lift strap are identical, and each has a pair of length-adjustable webbings, a quick-release buckle, and a pair of lift-connection mechanisms. The quick-release buckle is connected in between the pair of length-adjustable webbings so that the two length-adjustable webbings are terminally connected to each other. Each lift-connection mechanism is terminally connected to a length-adjustable webbing, opposite to the quick-release buckle. As a result, the length-adjustable webbings can be connected to each other and then connected to the paratransit lift.

摘要： A lifting apparatus comprises: a base part, a lifting rope, a sheave assembly, a first rotatably mounted sheave, around which the rope passes and from which the rope extends downwardly to a load, a second rotatably mounted sheave and a drive for moving the sheave assembly. The sheave assembly is mounted for pivotal movement relative to the base part about an axis of pivoting spaced from the axis of rotation of the first sheave and coincident with the axis of rotation of the second sheave. During movement of the load relative to the base part, the first sheave is moved by the drive to compensate for that relative movement, the movement of the first sheave being such that the vertical component of the movement of the first sheave relative to the load is less than the vertical component of the movement of the base part relative to the load.

摘要： The present invention provides a compact wheelchair lift mechanism useable within a relatively small vehicle cabin space, such as a pickup truck with an extended cabin. The wheelchair lift includes a lateral actuator and a vertical actuator that cooperate to move a wheelchair support laterally in and out of a vehicle cabin and vertically between the cabin floor and the ground. The vehicle includes a lowered floor for expanding the vertical opening available to the lift, wheelchair, and vehicle occupant. The lift is positioned within the vehicle cabin such that no loss of seating capacity results from the installation of the lift.
