In a region where a Y coordinate of an orthogonal coordinate system is 1.0 mm or greater, an origin of the coordinate system being a geometric center of an optical part, an inner edge of the support part is positioned between shapes obtained by offsetting the outer edge of the support part by 0.2 mm and by 1.0 mm towards the X-axis origin. The tip of the support part is positioned in a region where the Y coordinate is greater than a radius of the optical part, outside a circle with a radius of 5.0 mm centered on the origin.

    摘要: Embodiments of the invention relate to an intraocular lens system having a plurality of haptics for use with an optic. In general, the haptics are adapted to move independently in response to forces associated with a ciliary muscle and/or zonules of an eye when implanted. The optic may be releasably secured to the system using, for example, a plurality of optic securing arms. Alternatively, the optic may be fused to the haptics, which may project radially outward from the optic. A restraining arm may be included to limit movement of the haptics during accommodation and/or disaccommodation. Clamping members may be included for securing the system to a capsular bag of the eye. Methods of implanting the intraocular lens system into the eye are also described.

    摘要: The present disclosure concerns a curvature-changing, accommodative intraocular lens (IOL) that may be implanted in the capsular bag of a patient's eye and is configured to harness the energy of the movement of the capsular bag upon contraction and relaxation of the ciliary muscles. In certain embodiments, the IOL includes a fluid optic body defining a cavity for containing an optical fluid, the cavity at least partially defined by a first optical membrane configured to extend across an optical axis of the patient's eye. The IOL further includes a plurality of lever arms extending from the optic body and configured to be in contact with the capsular bag such that axial compression of the capsular bag causes each of the plurality of lever arms to rotate about a corresponding pivot so as to modify a curvature of the first optical membrane.

    摘要: An accommodating intraocular lens (AIOL) for implantation within a capsular bag of a patient's eye comprises first and second components coupled together to define an inner fluid chamber and an outer fluid reservoir. The inner region of the AIOL provides optical power with one or more of the shaped fluid within the inner fluid chamber or the shape of the first or second components. The fluid reservoir comprises a bellows region with one or more folds of the bellows extending circumferentially around an optical axis of the eye. The bellows engages the lens capsule, and a compliant fold region between the inner and outer bellows portions allows the profile of the AIOL to deflect when the eye accommodates for near vision. Fluid transfers between the inner fluid chamber and the outer fluid reservoir to provide optical power changes when the eye accommodates.

Accommodation is achieved by relying upon the thickening and thinning of the optic (32) as a result of the normal retracting and contracting of the ciliary body (24) in response to the distance of an object from the viewer.

A haptic supports the optic around its equator and couples the optic to the capsular bag of the eye. Certain haptic features improve the accommodative performance of the haptic, such that compressive/tensile forces may be more efficiently transferred from the haptic to optic. Furthermore, certain aspects also provide enhanced bag-sizing capability so that the IOL better fits within the capsular bag.
