Abstract:
A device for securing textiles to the ground, the device having an elongated body with one end adapted to accept a locking ring so that a textile may be secured by compression in between the locking ring and the elongated body. The elongated body has an upper section and a lower section opposite of the upper section. The upper section has a shaft and had adapted to receive the locking ring and its circumference. The lower section is tapered for insertion into the ground. A textile such as towel, blanket, tarpaulin, and the like may be secured by compression between the upper section of the body and the locking ring.
Abstract:
A method and device for holding an electronic device, such as a suitably-equipped cellular phone, having a video recording feature, or simply a camera, at a desired elevation for filming or photographing. The device includes a frame for holding the electronic device and a vertical support serving as a monopod, such as a golf alignment stick. The frame may be a two-part adjustable frame comprising two interlocking, opposing, L-shaped elements.
Abstract:
Anchor devices for maintaining the position of marine vessels, fishing rods, umbrellas, and other items are disclosed. In an aspect, an anchor device configured for use in or near a littoral zone is disclosed comprising an auger and a body. The auger is a conical, helical screw blade constructed of a composite material or other rigid substance chosen to limit damage to individuals and equipment. The body is configured to connect to a marine vessel, thereby providing a shallow water anchor for the vessel. In another aspect, the body is configured to connect to and anchor fishing poles, signs, umbrellas, and the like.
Abstract:
The subject beverage container holder is comprised of the central sections of natural bamboo plants or parts of thermoplastic materials molded to comprise cylinders, selected and configured to have a width (w) to accommodate a beverage container and a depth (d) to accommodate the selected beverage container, while leaving a sufficient portion of the container available for a user to grasp. The natural bamboo is cut to a desirable length having a plurality of segments as may be desired in assembling beverage holders of varying height. The plastic materials may comprise molded sections designed to simulate the bamboo sections. The bottommost segment of the natural bamboo or molded thermoplastic is configured to secure the beverage holder to a base or to anchor the beverage container holder in sand or the like.
Abstract:
The present invention provides umbrella anchors and accessories that facilitate the use of umbrellas over a wide variety of ground surfaces. An anchor may have a generally tubular shape with a bore that receives the bottom end of a pole of an umbrella. The anchor may have a tip that penetrates the ground in response to application of linear force, and a flange that limits the depth of penetration of the anchor into the ground and adds stability. Alternatively, an anchor may have a flange positioned distally to lie underneath a deck or other man-made surface. An anchor may have a flange that is angled relative to the remainder of the anchor to facilitate placement of the umbrella at a angle relative to ground level. A cover may prevent entry of debris into the anchor bore. Modular tables or accessory trays may be attached around the pole of the umbrella.
Abstract:
A method of securing an elongate member in the ground which includes the steps of embedding the member within a matching size and shaped hole in the ground then ensnaring the member with a ground anchor that passes substantially through the member intersecting the member. The invention also applies to a member with a ground anchor positioned therein and also having a tightening nut.
Abstract:
A ground securing rod includes a hollow metal rod (1), whose drive-in end has a flat helical section whose diameter is slightly larger than that of the bar (2), terminating in a tip (3). The section is made with the body of the rod (1) itself by a reduction in its diameter in combination with stamping of the rod in order to flatten it, whereby it is twisted until the helical section is formed, which has a cone-shaped reinforcement at its base (4), while at its upper end the rod (1) has an attached upper reinforcing piece (5), having a seat (6) for a torsion lever (7) that can be inserted into a through opening (8) located at the upper end of the rod and is positioned in the area covered by the upper reinforcing piece (5).
Abstract:
There is disclosed an apparatus and a method for supporting a movable or stationary decoy displayed on a stake for attracting waterfowl where the decoy has a neck portion, a head portion, a body portion, and a stake that protrudes from and may be securely attached to the body portion of the decoy. A tubular receiving member having an internal channel is provided for loosely receiving the stake. The tubular receiving member can be made of black PVC conduit or other suitable materials and has an upper end that is flared to provide an opening that is larger than the internal channel in the tubular receiving member and a lower end that is sealed to prevent water from entering the tubular receiving member. The lower end of the tubular receiving member is adapted to be mounted in the ground.
Abstract:
A beach umbrella stand is provided including a foot operated drive assembly. A pole of a beach umbrella stand has a hollow interior portion housing the foot operated drive assembly. The foot operated drive assembly includes a ratchet assembly operated by a foot pedal. The ratchet assembly further includes an auger mounted at least partially within the pole, for driving into the sand. The ratchet assembly is positioned for operation of a pedal by a user's foot.
Abstract:
An improved bow holder is comprised of a bow cradle, at least one extension member and a base. The preferred bow cradle is comprised of a body, a clamp bed and a pair of L-shaped studs. The clamp bed is pivotally attached to the body. The clamp bed releasably locks to the body such that a fixed angle between the clamp bed and the body may be set. The studs are attached to the clamp bed such that the limb of a bow may be releasably clamped between the studs and the clamp bed. The base is comprised of a stem for insertion into a ground surface and a pair of pedals for applying ground insertion force to the stem. The bow cradle is attached to the base, or if a higher bow holding position is desired, an extension member.
