    摘要: A display apparatus is disclosed comprising a plurality of electrofluidic chromatophore (EFC) pixel cells, each pixel cell comprising a fluid holder for holding a polar fluid and a non-polar fluid having differing display properties. The fluid holder comprises a fluid reservoir and a channel. The channel is connected to the reservoir so as to enable movement of the polar fluid and non-polar fluid between the channel and the reservoir. A supply voltage applied to the channel results in a movement of the polar fluid to change a cell display property. A circuit board supplies an electrical charge to the pixel cells to generate the supply voltage. A display controller comprises a state lookup table storing, for a respective pixel cell, the current pixel cell display property. The display controller calculates the electrical charge as a function of the current pixel cell display property and the new pixel cell display property.

    摘要: The invention relates to an electronic device 60 comprising a flexible display arranged to be alternated between a collapsed state and an extended state, said flexible display comprising edge portions, the flexible display being further provided with an edge protector cooperating with the edge portions, wherein the edge protector is conceived to be alternated between a collapsed state and an extended state. In the electronic device 60a the flexible display 65 is conceived to be wound about a roller 61. The edge protector comprises rigid segments 63a, 63b, 63c, 62a, 62b, 62c, 62c interconnected by suitable means 64a, 64b, 64c. Wiring, pins, bars may be used for interconnecting means 64a, 64b, 64c. In the embodiment 60a an extended position of the edge protector is shown. In the embodiment 60b a collapsed state of the edge protector is shown comprising aggregations of segments 62′, 62″. The bars 64a, 64b, 64c partly protect the back surface of the display. The invention further relates to the electronic device comprising a flexible display wherein the flexible display is provided with an edge protector attached at least partially to the edge portions of the flexible display.

    摘要: A portable device is provided having a touch sensitive display (100) comprising an active matrix display element (101) and a touch sensitive element (103). The touch sensitive element (103) is disposed on the viewer distal side of the active matrix display element (101) thereby not affecting the display properties. The touch sensitive element (103) comprises a first and second conductive layer (113, 115) each having a plurality of conductors. The conductive layers (113, 115) sandwich a pressure sensitive layer (117) which modifies an electrical conductivity between two conductors of the two conductive layers (113, 115) in response to a pressure point resulting from an applied pressure. Thus, accurate position detection is achieved. The conductors may be aligned with the active matrix and the requirement for calibration may be obviated.
