摘要: The invention concerns a multilayer body (5) and a process for producing a multilayer body (5). The multilayer body (5) has a transparent first layer (51) in which a multiplicity of cylindrical lenses of a length of more than 2 mm and a width of less than 400 μm are shaped, which are arranged in accordance with a microlens grid spanning a first co-ordinate system having a co-ordinate axis X1 which is determined by the focal point lines of the cylindrical lenses, and a co-ordinate axis Y2 perpendicular thereto. In a second layer (52) arranged beneath the first layer in a fixed position with respect to the first layer there are a multiplicity of microscopic structures in the form of microimages which are distorted along a longitudinal axis with respect to a transverse axis in accordance with a transformation function and which are arranged in accordance with a microimage grid spanning a second co-ordinate system having a co-ordinate axis X2 and a co-ordinate axis Y2 perpendicular thereto. In a region of the multilayer body in which the microlenses of the microlens grid and the microscopic structures of the microimage grid are in superposed relationship the line spacing determined by the spacing of the focal point lines of the cylindrical lenses and the microimage spacing determined by the spacing of the centroids of the microimages differ from each other by not more than 10%. To produce the multilayer body (5) the second layer is applied to a third layer, the first layer is arranged above the third layer and the first, second and third layers are laminated together using heat and pressure by means of a tool (41, 42, 43) acting on the top side of the first layer and the underside of the third layer. In that case the lens grid is shaped into the surface of the first layer into the top side of the first layers by means of a pressing plate in which the negative form of the lens grid is shaped.

摘要: The invention concerns a multi-layer body (7) having a carrier substrate (750) and a transparent layer (720) at least partially arranged in a window (70) or in a transparent region of the carrier substrate (750). The transparent layer (720) has at least a first subregion (71a) and a second subregion (71b) with a varying refractive index, which are arranged in mutually juxtaposed relationship in the layer plane defined by the transparent layer (720), and are at least partially arranged in the window (70) or in the transparent region of the carrier substrate (750). Each of the subregions (71a, 71b) has a plurality of periodically arranged nodes which form an optical-action element and which are formed by a refractive index variation and which are arranged in substantially mutually parallel planes. The planes in the at least first subregion (71a) are not parallel to the planes in the at least second subregion (71b). At least in one of the subregions (71a, 71b) the planes extend neither parallel nor perpendicular to the layer plane. In that way both the light incident on the front side and on the rear side of the multi-layer body (7) is diffracted by the optical-action elements and the elements produce an optical effect which is different in the front view and in the rear view in the incident light mode.

摘要: The invention concerns an optical security element and a system for visualising items of concealed information comprising such an optical security element. The optical security element has a substrate layer in which a relief structure defined by relief parameters, in particular relief shape, relief depth, spatial frequency and azimuth angle, is shaped in the surface region defined by an X-axis and a Y-axis, for producing an optically perceptible effect. One or more of the relief parameters defining the relief structure are varied in the surface region in accordance with a parameter variation function. The surface region is divided into one or more pattern regions and a background region. One or more of the relief parameters defining the relief structure are varied in the one or more pattern regions in accordance with a parameter variation function which is phase-displaced in relation to the parameter variation function of the background region. There is further provided a verification element which has a verification grating which is defined by a periodic transmission function and whose period corresponds to the period of the parameter variation function.

摘要: The invention relates to an optically variable element which at least in surface portions has an interface embedded between two layers and which forms an optically effective structure, that interface having a free-form surface which appears three-dimensionally for a viewer. To emphasise that free-form surface the invention provides that the free-form surface is formed by a partial region of the interface, which is of a lens-like configuration and which produces a magnification, reduction or distortion effect. The invention also provides the use of such optically variable elements as a security element to prevent forgery of value-bearing documents or for articles to be safeguarded, in particular as part of the decorative layer arrangement of a transfer or laminating film.

摘要: A security element for sticking onto a document comprises a layer composite of plastic material and has embedded, optically effective structures of a pattern . The optically effective structures in surface portions of the pattern are in a reference plane, defined by co-ordinate axis (x; y), of the layer composite and are shaped into a reflecting interface. The interface is embedded between a transparent shaping layer and a protective layer of the layer composite. At least one surface portion is of a dimension of greater than 0.4 mm and in the interface has at least one shaped macrostructure which is an at least portion-wise steady and differentiatable function of the co-ordinates (x; y). The macrostructure is curved at least in partial regions and is not a periodic triangular or rectangular function. In the surface portion adjacent extreme values of the macrostructure are at least 0.1 mm away from each other. Upon illumination of the pattern with light an optically variable pattern of light reflection phenomena is visible on the security element upon changing the viewing direction.
