摘要: The point of tangency of the tip circle of the male rotor and the root circle of the female rotor is used as a starting point in generating the series of curves defining the male and female conjugate rotor profiles. The present invention provides: reduced viscous drag through the use of a departure angle; strengthened female lobes by controlling thickness along the pitch circle; opened root of male rotor to enhance manufacturability and tool life; a tortuous leakage path for gas traveling from a high pressure thread to a low pressure thread; better control of root diameter; and control of the pressure angle independently of the other variables.

摘要: An improved geometry for scroll wrap inner portion includes a groove which facilitates opening of the compression chambers to the discharge ports early in the cycle of the orbiting scroll. Stated one way, a forward end of the scroll wrap tip is thinner than a portion spaced from the forward end. A first curve defines the forwardmost end of said tip and extends to a forward ledge. A second circular curve is spaced from the forward ledge and extends to a rear ledge. An intermediate curve connects the forward and rear ledges. The rear curve is centered on a second radius, and if the second radius were extended beyond the rear ledge, the extension would move to a position spaced from the forward ledge and towards the opposed wrap. The swing radius for the scroll compressor wrap measured begins at the position wherein the forward ledge of one wrap faces the rear ledge of an opposed wrap begins on one side of zero, then crosses zero with an increasing scroll wrap, and then moves to an opposed side of zero. The inventive scroll compressor wrap achieves more rapid and smooth opening of the compression chambers to the discharge ports.

摘要: A scroll compressor has an economizer injection line communicating into the scroll compressor chambers. An unloader valve selectively communicates the economizer injection line back to suction. In this arrangement, the fluid ports and passages necessary to achieve the economizer injection are also utilized to achieve suction bypass unloading, and thus the compressor and system design and construction are simplified.

摘要: A scroll type machine particularly suited for use as a refrigeration compressor is disclosed which includes a bearing assembly for non-adjustably rotatably supporting a drive shaft. The bearing assembly is in turn non-adjustably supported on the sidewall of an outer shell. The scroll type machine also includes an oil delivery system for delivering lubricating oil from a lower sump to an upper end of the crankshaft and an oil return hole in a fixed portion of the compressor for returning oil to the sump.

摘要: The annular piston of a rolling piston compressor coacts with a groove in valving action such that the groove serves as a supplemental discharge flow area but gas therein is prevented from constituting part of the suction flow. The groove may be in the motor end bearing and/or pump end bearing and permits flow from the compression chamber to the interior of the piston which is in fluid communication with the interior of the shell while the compression chamber is undergoing discharge.

摘要: A hermetic motor compressor includes a shell, first and second scroll members and a closure member extending across a portion of the interior of the shell adjacent one end of the shell to define a discharge chamber. A discharge port in the scroll member located closest to the closure member provides fluid communication between the center of the scroll members and the discharge chamber through an opening in the closure member. A seal member located between the closure member and the scroll member places the discharge port in sealed fluid communication with the discharge chamber.

The machine also has a modified wrap tip and end plate profile in order to enhance performance, as well as an improved lubrication system for the drive and a baffle arrangment to provide a directed suction inlet. The machine also has an Oldham coupling utilizing a novel ring element which is non-circular and provides for increased thrust-bearing size, or reduced machine size. There is also disclosed a method of manufacture of a scroll-type machine.
