    Abstract: Provided are a color separation element and an image sensor including the same. The color separation element includes a spacer layer; and a color separation lens array, which includes at least one nano-post arranged in the spacer layer and is configured to form a phase distribution for splitting and focusing incident light according to wavelengths, wherein periodic regions in which color separation lens arrays are repeatedly arranged are provided, and the color separation lens array is configured to interrupt phase distribution at the boundary of the periodic regions.

    Abstract: Provided is an image sensor including a color separating lens array. The image sensor includes a sensor substrate including a first pixel configured to sense first wavelength light, and a second pixel configured to sense second wavelength light; and a color separating lens array including a first wavelength light condensing region in which the first wavelength light is condensed onto the first pixel, wherein an area of the first wavelength light condensing region is greater than an area of the first pixel, and a distance between the sensor substrate and the color separating lens array is less than a focal distance of the first wavelength light condensing region with respect to the first wavelength light.

    Abstract: An image sensor may include pixel groups arranged in a Bayer pattern and a color separating lens array that separates incident light by wavelengths and concentrates the separated incident light on the pixels. The color separating lens array may include pixel corresponding groups, with each group having regions containing nanoposts in two layers. In each of the pixel corresponding groups in each of the two layers, there are a central group and a plurality of peripheral groups. The displacements of arrangement centers of the nanoposts in at least two of the peripheral groups have variations.

    Abstract: An image acquisition apparatus according to an example embodiment includes an image sensor including a sensor substrate including a plurality of photo-sensing cells for sensing light thereon, and a color separation lens array disposed in front of the sensor substrate and including a nanostructure to separate incident light by color, wherein the nanostructure forms a phase distribution in a plurality of regions facing the plurality of photo-sensing cells, respectively, and the phase distribution is formed so as to condense light of different wavelengths onto photo-sensing cells adjacent to each other, and a processor configured to process an image signal for each color obtained from the image sensor. The processor is further configured to perform decoupling with respect to sensing signals of the plurality of photo-sensing cells by using a kernel defined from a point spread function determined by the phase distribution.

    Abstract: An image sensor may include a pixel array including a plurality of two-dimensionally arranged pixels. Each pixel may include a first meta-photodiode absorbing light of a first wavelength band; a second meta-photodiode absorbing light in a second wavelength band; and a third meta-photodiode absorbing light of a third wavelength band, wherein the first meta-photodiode, the second meta-photodiode, and the third meta-photodiode may be arranged in an area having a size less than a diffraction limit. The arrangement form of the first meta-photodiode, the second meta-photodiode, and the third meta-photodiode arranged in the plurality of pixels in a central portion of the pixel array may be the same as the arrangement form of the first meta-photodiode, the second meta-photodiode, and the third meta-photodiode arranged in the plurality of pixels in a periphery of the pixel array.
