    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of one or more beam failure detection reference signal sets corresponding to a list of component carriers. Whether a component carrier is included in the list or whether a beam failure detection reference signal set of the one or more beam failure detection reference signal sets is applicable to the component carrier, or both, may be based on whether the component carrier is of a first type configured for a single beam failure detection reference signal set or is of a second type configured for multiple beam failure detection reference signal sets. The UE may monitor one or more component carriers included in the list for beam failure using the one or more indicated beam failure detection reference signal sets.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit control signaling indicating a capability of the UE for supporting a first duplex mode and indicating a mode switching latency of the UE for switching between the first duplex mode and a second duplex mode. In some cases, the UE may transmit an indication of a set of supported full-duplex channel combinations, where each channel combination of the set of supported full-duplex channel combinations may include an uplink channel and a downlink channel. In some cases, the UE may transmit an indication of a duration for which the capability of the UE for supporting the first duplex mode is applicable. The UE may receive scheduling information based on the capability of the UE for supporting the first duplex mode and the mode switching latency, and communicate with a base station based on the scheduling information.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may update a capability to a network entity periodically when the complexity, power, or memory needs of the UE change. The UE may additionally update the capability upon being triggered by a network entity, during a time scheduled by the network entity, upon the expiration of a timer, etc. The capabilities may be or include explicit values for beam switching delay, or an index selecting delay values from a table previously configured to the UE, for example. Additionally, The UE and network entity may support communications according to capability values associated with a time delay between a transmitted reference signal with repetition and the UE being ready for a downlink transmission using a beam selected based on the reference signal. This capability may indicate to the network entity to avoid scheduling downlink messages during the delay.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for reducing the overhead associated with reporting feedback, such as hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration message from a base station indicating that the UE is to request resources for transmitting negative acknowledgment (NACK) feedback for a downlink transmission. If the UE fails to receive or decode the downlink transmission, the UE may request resources from the base station on which to transmit the NACK feedback for the downlink transmission. Because the UE may be configured to request resources on which to transmit the NACK feedback, the UE may avoid transmitting HARQ feedback for every downlink transmission from the base station. Thus, the base station may avoid allocating resources for HARQ feedback from the UE for every downlink transmission, and the overhead of reporting HARQ feedback is reduced.
