Abstract: Wireless communication devices, systems, and methods related to power saving, including during connected mode operation and for extended reality (XR) data communications with or without discontinuous reception (DRX), are provided. For example, a method of wireless communication includes receiving, while in a connected mode, a configuration based on data traffic for the wireless communication device, the configuration indicating: a first zone associated with a first set of operating parameters for the wireless communication device; and a second zone associated with a second set of operating parameters for the wireless communication device, the second set of operating parameters being different than the first set of operating parameters; operating in the first zone with the first set of operating parameters to monitor for a first downlink communication signal; and operating in the second zone with the second set of operating parameters.

Abstract: Aspects relate to supporting power control for physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmissions on an uplink secondary component carrier (SCC) of a wireless communication system. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) receives a power control configuration from a base station for use by the UE for a PUCCH transmission on a selected uplink SCC. The UE then transmits, based at least in part on the power control configuration, the PUCCH to the base station on the selected uplink SCC. Closed-loop and open-loop power control examples are provided. In some aspects, common or shared power control configurations are provided by the base station for use with each component carrier of a PUCCH group. In other aspects, carrier-specific power control configurations are provided by the base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit signaling to a user equipment (UE) indicating one or more resources for a relay data transmission and a priority scheme for the relay data transmission and a current data transmission. The priority scheme may indicate a priority value for the relay data transmission and the current data transmission. The UE may selectively transmit the relay data transmission, the current data transmission, or both based on the priority scheme. If the priority scheme indicates the current data transmission has a higher priority than the relay data transmission, then the UE may transmit the current data transmission using the resources. If the priority scheme indicates the current data transmission has a lower priority than the relay data transmission, then the UE may transmit the relay data transmission using the resources.

Abstract: A method of wireless communications by a receiving sidelink user equipment includes detecting a lite sidelink synchronization signal (SL-SS) transmitted by a transmitting sidelink UE. Abstract: A method of non-coherent wireless communication performed by a wireless communication device includes generating information bits for transmission to another wireless communication device. The method also includes identifying a configuration for a polar code encoder for encoding the information bits. The method further includes encoding a set of the information bits with a polar code encoding operation based on the configuration to generate a codeword, the configuration rendering the polar code encoding operation incapable of generating a codeword that is a bit-flipped counterpart of another codeword that the polar code encoding operation is capable of generating based on the configuration. The method still further includes transmitting the codeword via a wireless channel without a reference signal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, control signaling indicating a set of connected discontinuous reception (C-DRX) configurations. The set of C-DRX configurations may include a first C-DRX configuration and a second C-DRX configuration, where at least one C-DRX configuration in the set of C-DRX configurations is a UE-group common C-DRX configuration. The set of C-DRX configurations may correspond to a discontinuous transmission (DTX) cycle of the base station. The UE may select a C-DRX configuration from the set of C-DRX configurations based on receiving the control signaling from the base station. Accordingly, the UE may use the selected C-DRX configuration to communicate with the base station. The selected C-DRX configuration may enable the base station to operate with reduced power consumption and higher DTX efficiency, among other benefits.
