    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide triggers for user equipment (UE) transmissions to support uplink based mobility in a wireless communication system. According to certain aspects, a method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes receiving a configuration indicating one or more triggers for transmitting on an uplink access channel, wherein the one or more triggers comprise a first indication of mobility of the UE, determining, based at least in part on detection of one of the one or more triggers, to transmit on the uplink access channel, transmitting a signal on the uplink access channel, and receiving, in response to the transmission of the signal on the uplink access channel, a second indication of at least one of: confirmation of reception of the signal or a paging notification.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides for a user equipment (UE) detecting an indication of an application-specific latency reduction triggering condition that may trigger switching of a communication state of the UE. For example, the UE may be in an initial state. The UE may transition into a different state that is associated with lower latency for data transfer. In an aspect, the UE may trigger the indication for latency reduction even when the network-configured criteria for the indication has not yet been met. The UE may trigger an application-specific latency reduction triggering condition during the startup of an application, which triggers a resource request message even before the network-configured threshold value for generating such resource request messages is satisfied. The resource request message may cause the network to command the UE to transition to a state that has a latency less than that in the current state.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for improved traffic management in wireless communications are disclosed. Aspects of the present disclosure provide real-time assessments to a network by leveraging measurement reports from user equipment (UE). In some aspects, the network utilizes channel quality indicator (CQI) information from each of a serving cell and a neighboring cell to identify UE capabilities and expected UE performance prior to either offloading or rerouting traffic to the UE. Accordingly, based on the received CQI information and a greater understanding of the anticipated UE performance, the radio network controller (RNC) may be better equipped to determine whether to offload and/or reroute the traffic scheduled for transmission to the UE via the neighboring cell or the serving cell.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive uplink frames delivered from an application of the UE. The UE may transmit a message that indicates one or more of a cadence of the uplink frames or an offset of each of the uplink frames. The UE may receive an uplink transmission configuration that indicates that uplink transmission occasions of the UE are to overlap with power efficient opportunities. The UE may transmit uplink transmissions for the uplink frames at the uplink transmission occasions according to the uplink transmission configuration. Numerous other aspects are described.
