Abstract: An example device includes a memory configured to store video data; and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and configured to: receive tracking and sensor information from an extended reality (XR) client device; generate scene data using the tracking and sensor information, the scene data comprising one or more video frames of the video data; encode the video frames to form encoded video frames; perform a radio access network (RAN) simulation of delivering the encoded video frames via a radio access network; decode the encoded video frames delivered according to the RAN simulation to form decoded video frames; calculate values representing individual frame quality for each of the video frames from the generated one or more video frames and the decoded video frames; and determine an overall quality value from the values representing the individual frame quality for each of the video frames.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow a UE to disable measurements of reference signals from 5G base stations which are inapplicable to EN-DC. The UE may receive a reference signal from a base station. The UE may identify a frequency range. The UE may determine whether to measure the reference signal based on whether the reference signal is within the identified frequency range. The UE may refrain from measuring the reference signal in response to the determination. The UE may also refrain from measuring the reference signal in response to a SIB received at the UE not including a ULI, or in response to a frequency associated with the reference signal not being in a list of supported bands for EN-DC. As a result, inter-RAT handovers from LTE base stations to 5G base stations are prevented, UE power consumption is thereby saved, and support for EN-DC is maintained.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for wireless communications that support fast user equipment (UE) handover between base stations. A UE may receive, from a source base station, a configuration for reference signal transmission at a set of uplink transmit power levels. The UE may transmit multiple uplink reference signal repetitions based on the configuration. The source base station may transmit a request message to a target base station to measure the multiple uplink reference signal repetitions. The target base station may select an uplink reference signal and measure a transmit power correction. The target base station may transmit an indication to the source base station of the selection and transmit power correction. The source base station may evaluate the indications and select the target base station. The source base station may forward to the indicated contents, and the UE may switch and synchronize with the target base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for video frame rendering are described. A device, such as a user equipment (UE) may receive a set of video packets over a video connection (e.g., a video telephone service) and generate a set of video frames based on the set of video packets. The device may determine to render a video frame of the set of video frames based on a frame type of the video frame or a rendering criteria including a video quality of the video frame, or both. In some examples, the frame type may include a perfect frame or a corrupted frame. The device may render the video frame of the set of video frames based on the frame type of the video frame or the video frame satisfying the rendering criteria, or both, and output the rendered video frame for display.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may identify a cycle length associated with a discontinuous communication mode, determine a frame duration associated with the discontinuous communication mode, select a redundancy offset that is greater than or equal to the cycle length, and communicate with a second device in the discontinuous communication mode using the redundancy offset. The device may generate a first frame that includes a set of data and a second frame that includes at least a subset of the set of data and may transmit the first frame at a first time and the second frame at a second time that is separated from the first time at least by the redundancy offset. A device may receive a first frame at a first time and a second frame at a second time that is separated from the first time by the redundancy offset.
