    摘要: A blind riveting system is disclosed having a rivet gun with a housing defining a fluid chamber. A piston is slidably mounted in the fluid chamber and is moveable between a forward and a retracted position. The piston divides the fluid chamber into a drive chamber and a return chamber. A first source of incompressible fluid is fluidly connected to the drive chamber while, similarly, a second source of incompressible fluid is fluidly connected with the return chamber. A trigger on the rivet gun is moveable between an actuated position and a release position. Upon movement of the trigger to its actuated position pressurized, and incompressible fluid is provided under pressure to the drive chamber which drives the piston towards the retracted position, and in doing so, fastens the blind rivet. Upon release of the trigger, pressurized incompressible fluid is provided to the return chamber to thereby return the piston to its forward position in preparation for a subsequent riveting operation.

    摘要: A front projection screen is disclosed which is made from a transparent material. Prism-like elements are formed on the backside thereof so that light incident upon the screen from a preferred direction will be totally reflected by the screen while light incident upon the screen from other directions will pass therethrough. Sides of the prism-like elements are curved for dispersion in the horizontal plane while the front surface of the projection screen has segments of cylindrical columns formed thereon perpendicular to the prism-like elements to provide an angular spread in the vertical plane. The thickness of the screen is between 30 percent and 70 percent of the focal length of the cylindrical columns to allow the screen to be tilted in the vertical plane.

    摘要: A method and system for establishing a wireless connection between a portable computer system and a wireless network, particularly when the portable computer system goes out of coverage and a wireless connection needs to be re-established. The portable computer system has a main processor and a digital signal processor (DSP). The main processor is placed in a low power mode, conserving battery power. When the portable computer system goes out of coverage, broadcast channels used by the wireless network are scanned by the DSP instead of the main processor to identify channels that have sufficient signal strength for the wireless connection. Thus, the main processor remains in the low power mode. When the DSP identifies acceptable channels, it wakes up the main processor and identifies the channels having sufficient signal strength. The main processor then establishes a wireless connection using one of the channels identified by the DSP.

    摘要: A method of performing a frequency correction of a radio module. Multiple samples of frequency data during a quiescent portion of the base station transmission is taken to estimate the amount of frequency correction needed. An embodiment applies the frequency data to a median filter to eliminate invalid data. Next, a new reference frequency is applied to a radio transceiver in the radio module to provide the frequency correction. If the frequency was corrected by greater than a pre-determined amount, the process performs a large shift frequency correction, including verifying that the first frequency correction was satisfactory and verifying that the radio transceiver is able to receive data after the frequency correction has been performed. If the frequency was corrected by smaller than a pre-determined amount, the process performs a small shift frequency correction, including updating a total of all frequency corrections made since a stored reference frequency was updated.
