    Abstract: Example communication methods and apparatus are described. In one example method, a first cell includes a plurality of terminal devices that can transmit uplink data on a same uplink time-frequency resource. A first terminal device in the plurality of terminal devices determines a reference time domain location based on a preconfigured uplink time-frequency resource, where the reference time domain location is the same as a reference time domain location determined by another terminal device in the plurality of terminal devices. The first terminal device determines a time domain location that is (first duration×N H+second duration×(N−1)) away from the reference time domain location as a start time domain location of X gaps. The first terminal device further determines a time domain location that is (first duration×(M−1)+second duration x (M−1)) away from the reference time domain location as a start time domain location of Y first durations, where Y=X or Y=X+1. Uplink data is sent by the first terminal device to a network device on a first time-frequency resource used to transmit uplink data.

    Abstract: Embodiments provide a reference signal receiving and sending method. The solution is used in a plurality of cycles including a first cycle and a second cycle which each includes M first durations, and the first duration includes N paging occasions. The solution includes: determining a first target paging occasion that is in an mth first duration of the first cycle, where a relative location of the first target paging occasion in the first cycle is different from a relative location of a second target paging occasion in the second cycle, and the second target paging occasion is a target paging occasion in an mth first duration of the second cycle; determining, based on the first target paging occasion, a time domain resource that is in the mth first duration of the first cycle; and receiving or sending the reference signal on the time-frequency resource.

    Abstract: This application provides a communication method and apparatus, to improve convenience of measuring a reference signal on a bandwidth part (BWP), and improve measurement efficiency. A terminal device receives configuration information, where the configuration information indicates M reference signals configured on a first bandwidth part (BWP), the first BWP includes N starting resource block (RB) locations, N is a positive integer greater than 1, and M is a positive integer greater than or equal to 1; and the N starting RB locations of the first BWP are different. The terminal device measures at least one of the M reference signals on a BWP corresponding to the N starting RB locations of the first BWP, where in a same time unit, one of the N starting RB locations is used to measure the at least one of the M reference signals.

    Abstract: A communication method and apparatus is provided. The method includes: camping on a first cell by a terminal device. The method further includes: determining, by the terminal device, to access a second cell in response to: receiving a paging message from the first cell, determining that there is to-be-transmitted uplink information, or determining that there is a to-be-transmitted non-multicast service. A frequency of the first cell is different from a frequency of the second cell. The terminal device may not perform uplink transmission or may receive only a multicast service in the first cell so that energy consumption of cell measurement and beam selection is reduced. In addition, resource utilization of a communication system can be improved through flexible deployment.

    Abstract: This application provides a reference signal sequence transmission method. The method includes: generating a reference signal sequence based on a frame number of a radio frame; mapping at least a part of reference signals in the reference signal sequence to a resource position that corresponds to the radio frame and that is used to transmit the at least a part of reference signals; and sending the at least a part of reference signals or an orthogonal reference signal at the resource position, where the orthogonal reference signal is obtained by multiplying the at least a part of reference signals by a preset orthogonal code.

According to this application, a time for searching for a cell by a terminal can be reduced, power consumption of the terminal can be reduced, and a battery life can be extended.
