Abstract: Techniques for capturing images are described. In one scenario, one or more processors of an imaging device can obtain geodata information and time information associated with the imaging device. The geodata and time information is obtained prior to capturing a first image. Next, one or more second images can be identified from a database of images based on the geodata information and the time information. The processor(s) can be communicatively coupled to the database via a communications network. Additionally, the one or more processors can determine one or more image capture conditions associated with the one or more second images; and automatically modify one or more settings of the imaging device to be used for capturing the first image. The settings can be modified based on at least one of the one or more image capture conditions associated with the one or more second images. Other embodiments are possible.

Abstract: Systems and methods for proactively identifying and surfacing relevant content on an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display are disclosed herein. In one aspect, a method includes executing, on the device, an application in response to an instruction from a user of the electronic device. While executing the application, the method further includes collecting usage data. The usage data at least includes one or more actions performed by the user within the application. The method also includes: automatically, without human intervention, obtaining at least one trigger condition based on the collected usage data and associating the at least one trigger condition with a particular action of the one or more actions performed by the user within the application. Upon determining that the at least one trigger condition has been satisfied, the method includes providing an indication to the user that the particular action associated with the trigger condition is available.

Abstract: A device displays a user interface that includes a plurality of application icons. While displaying the user interface, the device detects an input that a contact at a location that corresponds to an application icon associated with an application. In response to detecting the input: when an intensity of the contact does not meet an intensity threshold, the device launches the application and replaces display of the user interface that includes the plurality of application icons with a user interface of the application; and when the characteristic intensity of the contact meets the intensity threshold, the device concurrently displays a content object and an affordance that is associated with the content object. The content object includes content automatically selected from the application based on a current context of the electronic device. The affordance is configured to add the content object to a user interface that includes information for multiple applications.

Abstract: An electronic device displays a messaging user interface on the display, the messaging user interface including: a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, and a message-input area that includes a first message input. While displaying the messaging user interface, the device detects a first input by a first contact at a location on the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to a location in the message-input area; in response to detecting the first input by the first contact, the device display an impact selection interface that includes a plurality of impact effect options. Abstract: An electronic device displays a messaging user interface on the display, the messaging user interface including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user. The device receives a first message within the messaging session from an electronic device that corresponds to another user included in the messaging session; in response to receiving the first message, the device displays the first message in a first message region in the conversation transcript on the display. The device detects a first input by a first contact at a location on the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to a location of the first message region in the conversation transcript; in response to detecting the first input, the device displays an acknowledgement selection affordance at a location in the messaging interface that corresponds to the first message region. The acknowledgement selection affordance displays a plurality of acknowledgement options. The device detects a second input by a second contact at a location on the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to a location of a first acknowledgement option in the acknowledgement selection affordance; and, in response to detecting the second input, the device applies the first acknowledgement option to the first message region.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for facilitating the capturing of panoramic images with a portable device. Such panoramic images are typically formed of multiple image portions taking as the camera is scanned through a range of motion, and the image portions are digitally “stitched” together to form a panoramic image. A user interface is provided to guide a user in positioning and/or moving of the portable device in a manner that will enable capture of a plurality of images suited for forming the intended panoramic image. In many examples, parameters of the panoramic image capturing operation, such as movement and/or positioning of the camera during the operation will be monitored in real time, and the monitored parameters will be used to provide feedback to the user as to any adjustments that may improve the image capture process.

Abstract: This disclosure pertains to systems, methods, and computer readable medium for mapping particular user interactions, e.g., gestures, to the input parameters of various image processing routines, e.g., image filters, in a way that provides a seamless, dynamic, and intuitive experience for both the user and the software developer. Such techniques may handle the processing of both “relative” gestures, i.e., those gestures having values dependent on how much an input to the device has changed relative to a previous value of the input, and “absolute” gestures, i.e., those gestures having values dependent only on the instant value of the input to the device. Additionally, inputs to the device beyond user-input gestures may be utilized as input parameters to one or more image processing routines. For example, the device's orientation, acceleration, and/or position in three-dimensional space may be used as inputs to particular image processing routines.
