    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for transmitting and detecting channel reservation preamble in a NR shared spectrum are described. An aspect may include determining whether a first reservation preamble of a first operator is received on a first time slot of multiple time slots of a downlink channel from a first network entity, and transmitting a second reservation preamble of the first operator on an uplink channel to the second network entity. Another aspect may include generating a first reservation preamble of a first operator based on at least one of a compressed representation in a signal space, a basis function of the signal space, or a CAZAC sequences; and transmitting, on a first timeslot of multiple time slots of a downlink channel, the first reservation preamble of the first operator to at least a UE. In another aspect, the SFN transmission of the first and second reservation preambles, and the low latency detection methods of the reservation preambles have been disclosed.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for performing paging and/or random access procedures with multiple physical resource blocks (PRBs) for narrowband (NB) internet-of-things (IoT). In one aspect, a method is provided which may be performed by a base station. The method generally includes determining a first set of resources and a second set of resources available for narrowband communications with one or more first user equipments (UEs) and one or more second UEs. The method also includes allocating the first and second set of resources to one or more of the first UEs and the second UEs based at least in part on a type of the first UEs and a type of the second UEs. The method further includes signaling an indication of the allocation.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for protecting overhead and common channel transmissions in a NR shared spectrum system. A BS of a first operator may receive information regarding at least one overhead transmission associated with a wireless device of a second operator and may protect one or more overhead signal transmissions of the wireless device based, at least in part, on the received information. A UE may detect information associated with at least one overhead transmission from a wireless device associated with a first operator and may transmit the information regarding the detected overhead transmission to a BS associated with a second operator. A UE served by a BS associated with a first operator may detect a wireless device (e.g., another UE or a BS) associated with a second operator. The UE may report an identification of the wireless device to the BS.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication systems configured to share a shared spectrum with one or more other systems (e.g., other operator networks utilizing the same radio access technology, and/or other networks utilizing different radio access technologies). Coexistence between the different systems on the shared spectrum may be provided by utilizing a technology-neutral signature waveform such as a signature sequence. When the shared spectrum channel is idle, the device or system may reserve the channel by transmitting the signature waveform.     Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communications utilizing discontinuous reception (DRX). Disclosed methods and apparatus include providing a grant indicator in a transmission from a base station to a user equipment (UE), where indicator notifies the UE of a grant of data during a subsequent discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle in the at least one UE. Additionally, a tracking reference signal (TRS), which may be aperiodic (A-TRS), is transmitted prior to an on-duration time of the DRX cycle, where the TRS is usable by the UE for updating a tracking loop and also can be referenced by the indicator. In this manner, the combination of the grant indicator and the TRS affords a UE sufficient time for updating a UE tracking loop before the DRX cycle. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
