    Abstract: Systems and methods for use in mapping an interior space of a product storage facility include at least one sensor that captures distance measurement data with respect to an interior space of the product storage facility. A computing device obtains a first image representing a 2-dimensional map of the interior space of the product storage facility and processes this image to define a boundary of the interior space of the product storage facility and detect individual structures located within the interior space of the product storage facility. Then, the computing device defines separate department areas, assigns a department label to each of the separate department areas, and converts the 2-dimensional map representing the detected structures and the defined separate department areas and the department labels assigned to the separate department areas into a second image representing a 3-dimensional map of the interior space of the product storage facility.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are image-based object recognition method and system by and in which a learning server performs image-based object recognition based on the learning of environment variable data. The image-based object recognition method includes: receiving an image acquired through at least one camera, and segmenting the image on a per-frame basis; primarily learning labeling results for one or more objects in the image segmented on a per-frame basis; performing primary reasoning by performing object detection in the image through a model obtained as a result of the primary learning; performing data labeling based on the results of the primary reasoning, and performing secondary learning with weights allocated to respective boxes obtained by the primary reasoning and estimated as object regions; and finally detecting one or more objects in the image through a model generated as a result of the secondary learning.

    Abstract: First and second predictors are used to identify regions of interest in a medical image. The first predictor is configured to maximize precision in identifying one or more abnormalities that it was trained to recognize, or at least to have greater precision than the second predictor. The second predictor is configured or selected to maximize sensitivity (i.e., recall) in identifying one or more abnormalities that it was trained to recognize, or at least to have greater sensitivity than the first predictor. The predictions of the first and second predictors may be used to create a digital map image showing the locations of regions of interest identified by the first and second predictors. Alternatively or in addition, the predictions may be used to rank images or image sets in terms of review priority.

    Abstract: An object detection device includes a storage medium configured to store computer-readable instructions, and a processor connected to the storage medium, in which the processor executes the computer-readable instructions to execute acquiring a captured image of a surface along which a mobile object is able to travel, which is captured with an inclination with respect to the surface, generating a low-resolution image obtained by lowering image quality of the captured image, defining a plurality of partial area sets each having partial areas in the low-resolution image, and deriving a total value obtained by totalizing differences in feature amount between the partial areas included in each of the plurality of partial area sets and partial areas in the vicinity to extract a point of interest on the basis of the total value, each of the plurality of partial area sets is defined to include a plurality of partial areas in a target area of each partial area set, and the target area is obtained by cutting out a part of the low-resolution image limited in a vertical direction so that at least a part thereof does not overlap with another partial area set in the vertical direction.
