In some implementations, a computer-implemented method includes obtaining a video that includes a plurality of tracks. The method further includes determining whether a partial transcoded file is available that corresponds to the video. The method further includes, if the partial transcoded file is available, obtaining a timestamp associated with the partial transcoded file, transcoding a portion of the video that begins at the timestamp associated with the partial transcoded file, and combining the partial transcoded file and the transcoded portion of the video to generate an output video. The method further includes, if the partial transcoded file is not available, transcoding the video from a start of the video using the transcoder to obtain a plurality of output tracks and combining the plurality of output tracks to obtain the output video.

    摘要: Dynamic transcoding can be used to provide supplemental content, selected to be played during breaks in a stream of primary content, that has the same format as the primary content. It can be desirable to provide supplemental content that is personalized. This may include additional content or advertising that may be of interest or relevance to a viewer. In many instances, the supplemental content will come from a different source and thus can be in a different format. Approaches in accordance with various embodiments can take advantage of dynamic transcoding of the supplemental content to provide properly formatted supplemental content through the same stream as the primary content. A custom manifest can be provided to the media player that points to the transcoded supplemental content. At an appropriate break in the playback, the media player can use the manifest to obtain the formatted supplemental content.

    摘要: According to one implementation, a media content conformation system includes a computing platform having a hardware processor and a system memory storing a software code. The hardware processor executes the software code to receive an editing file including edits to media content, the edits being based on a compressed representation of the media content and having a first data format. The software code also obtains cross-referencing data that maps a timecode data of the compressed representation of the media content to segments of an uncompressed representation of the media content, and transforms the editing file to a conformation file including the edits in a second data format based on the cross-referencing data. The conformation file enables rendering of an edited version of the media content including the edits.
